Influences: My Breedlove guitar. (Masterclass J20/R)I've seen some amazing acoustic guitar players who I'll never be able to play like, but seeing them has been inspiring.Tommy Emmanuel. Look, it's simple, if he's playing anywhere near you, go see him. It doesn't matter if you don't play guitar, or don't even listen to much music. Just go see the guy perform. If you don't come out feeling better than you went in, you have no soul!Michael Hedges. Seen him in the 80s, doing support to Suzanne Vega. He just walked on to the stage, unannounced, and played his first number. Jaws dropped everywhere. When he finished someone yelled "Who the **** are you?" Some of his stuff is a bit "out there" for me (I'm a simple soul), but his techniques were amazing and he could compose some magic.Phil Keaggy. For a bloke who doesn't have all ten fingers, he plays like he's got a lot more than 10! He sings and plays electric, but I think his best work is instrumental acoustic guitar. He did a great album, which I believe is going to be re-released called "The Master and the Musician".There's loads of other people who use acoustic guitar as a primary instrument in their music who always inspire me to give my guitar a strum.James Taylor, been doing it brilliantly for years. Suzanne Vega- "Solitude Standing"- what an album. Shawn Colvin - "Steady On" is a under rated masterpiece (in my opinion) Jonatha Brooke - I've heard her do a solo set, just her and a beautiful Olson guitar. If I ever get rich, I'm ringing Mr. Olson.
