About Me

I write, record and produce records for myself and other people... from my garage... and at the Hangar (see Tape Op) in Sacramento. My day job consits of whatever Tape Op work John and Larry give me... I like being in love with my wife and doing everything related to making records.
Bullshit Bio:Epic songwriting craft meets strong pop sensibilities; a compelling mix of folk, indie, post-punk, americana and lo-fi. Often compared to Mark Kozelek, Richard Buckner, Iron & Wine, Mark Eitzel and Elliott Smith. Scott's live performances are engaging and intimate. His recordings are saturated with the experimentation and melodic textures that have earned him avant-garde status as a producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist.Currently Scott is performing live, solo acoustic shows in the United States and Europe with occasional guest musicians. His live catalog includes more than 50 original songs. Please refer to the web site (www.scottmcchane.com) for updated calendar info, booking info, media downloads and more.Scott's recordings are all 'DIY'; written, produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the artist... intimate productions combined with odd instrumentation, beautiful arrangements and textured melodies."...McChane pieces together a collage of quietly melancholy images. Melodic vocals push the material into a tender place...""...Acoustic minimalism from the slow-burn school of Richard Buckner and Mark Kozelek.""...Flush with stark, moody scenes... gentle guitar picking and a voice like a serotonin-deprived Cat Stevens..." Former bandleader/singer/songwriter/guitarist for Northern California's 'Mac Swanky Trio'. Included 3 years touring the United States with appearances at NXNW, several radio stations (alternative and college) and television. The Mac Swanky Trio has sold more than 10,000 albums independently. Scott has released six solo recordings to date.
