About Me

Visions and dreams to begin "a music ministry with experienced musicians" was confirmation in a church service for Jenna McCullough, in September 2002. Although she had always been involved musically, singing individually and in small singing groups since the age of 9, she had never been in a band situation before. The quest to find musicians started in the Praise and Worship group at church. In January 2003, Dunamis was born. Having enough music to play was not a problem for the group for they all wrote original material. As the song writing grew and so did the band. In December 2003, guitarist, Rick McCullough and bassist, Mark Pearl, joined the group. The group has added drummer, Kevin Hoke in November 2006. In June 2008, the band welcomed guitarist, Ken Landis. Sure enough, they are experienced musicians. Jenna McCullough, whose smooth, soprano vocals, can sing the softest ballads to the boldest of rock with a twist of blues. Guitarist and songwriter, Rick McCullough, has a rich, ethereal tone that gives depth to his sound. His experiences in classical, jazz, blues and rock, as well as, his own special effects are incorporated in every song. Guitarist, and songwriter, Ken Landis, whose melodic and personal style resemble a blend of Eric Clapton and David Gilmour rolled into one. Bassist, Mark Pearl, shakes the ground with his creative combination of jazz and classic rock styles to anchor each song. Kevin Hoke, an intense, self taught, left handed drummer, whose specialty comes from classic rock and various international rhythms. Band members write and perform all their own music from bold rock to smooth blues and soothing ballads that make a sound all their own. Since their beginning, the unique sound of Dunamis has appealed to people of all ages from children to adults. Their mission is to reach as many souls as possible with the message of God's reality and love for them as shown by His son Jesus Christ. Dunamis is a Greek word meaning "the anointed power of God".
