Viper Music & Promotions as a company began in 1999 and is run by Steve and Julie Guard. Over this period of time we have gained experience in most fields of the music industry from booking agents for bands gigs and tours, promoting shows, overseeing and financing cd releases, negotiating label deals, merchandising, tour management and band management. We can take some credit for kick starting an actual "rock scene" in our hometown of Runcorn when our high profile promoting of weekly rock nights in a pub function room established it as a local music venue. This instigated a rush of newly formed local bands which has continued to thrive in the town. Our first band management deal was with former New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends DIAMOND HEAD when I; Steve, became their manager after being the driving force behind reforming the partnership of Sean Harris and Brian Tatler and getting the band back out on the road across the UK and see them play their first and only show to date in the USA in 2002. We have also worked with other bands and artists such as: Witchfynde, Girlschool, Wishbone Ash, Johnny Young (USA), Kory Clarke (USA), Robin George, Four Way Kill, Induced, Garage Inc and many more originals plus many of the leading UK tribute bands. 2005 stands as a highlight when I went out with Diamond Head as their tour manager when they supported MEGADETH on the european leg of the BLACKMAIL THE UNIVERSE TOUR. A great experience and a pleasure to meet and work with DAVE MUSTAINE and the Megadeth party - an appearance onstage performing backing vocals with Megadeth at the Madrid show was a real buzz too!! We currently manage the UKs Premier Metallica tribute band TALLICA, act as booking agent for a number of rock, metal tribute bands as well as being the management for upcoming rock band THE FIREFLYS and acoustic singer/songwriter Lee Wylding. May 2006 sees Viper Music booking a UK tour for New York, USA rock band BLOODROOT who will tour in late July/early August with THE FIREFLYS on the BLOOD & FIRE TOUR. The first show at Cert 18 in York was a great success and further shows will be performed during the year. Steve - May 2006UPDATE 2007 Viper Music & Promotions continued to thrive as a reputable music business at the end of 2006 and into 2007 as further relationships were undertaken with bands and venues around the UK. At the end of 2006 Viper signed a management deal with upcoming Classic Hard Rock band Rollin Thunder. This relationship is already acheiving great results with the band releasing their debut album in March and seeing a step up on the level of venues and promoters now booking the band. Our longterm working relationship with Tallica continues with a new drummer in place and into 2007 Tallica will be highly active across the UK with a powerpacked authentic Metallica Live Experience show. We have recently agreed terms to organise tribute bands from the rock & metal genre for a new venue in Cheshire which will run monthly commencing on June 2 with the awesome Megedeth the UKs only tribute to Dave Mustaines Megadeth. Our relationship thrives with a number of venues across the country as we see a number of bands Viper work with confirm bookings through us. Once again we have returned to the Diamond Head fold after a brief separation. We have taken on the duty to act as representatives to book dates in the UK. The first phase of this sees Diamond Head playing a selection of shows in the UK in May. Steve - March 2007
