The Unprofessionals

About Me

Simply put, we write catchy music with rock-out parts. Our goal since we started playing music together eight years ago remains constant -- write great songs and perform them superbly. We are fascinated with borrowing from the songbooks of greats like Lennon/McCartney, Ray Davies, and Roger Waters and incorporating a modern approach influenced by the bands of our youth like Beck, Radiohead, and Weezer.
Our band name has little to do with our work ethic – we are four dedicated musicians with college degrees who understand the commitment involved in conducting ourselves professionally, whether it be performing, recording, promoting, or negotiating. Having traveled to California and back in a van, we are familiar with the hardships of touring and how to adapt to a lifestyle of cramped hotel rooms, fast food diets, canceled shows, and sleeping in tight quarters.
Growing up together and making music for over eight years has given us a unique understanding of ourselves individually and as a band, and our experience has enabled us to mature musically and professionally. Although we operate solely on DIY ethics, constantly honing our recording, promoting, and design skills, we currently seek management and a record label to assist in our endeavor. If you are interested in working with The Unprofessionals, please send us a message or E-mail "[email protected]." For the moment, we will continue advancing in the music industry through focus, dedication, and talent. Our immediate goal is to record and distribute a defining album in this era of lackluster mainstream music.
You can listen to older songs we recorded with help from Chris Arter and Jason Majusiak at our Purevolume site . They are: "We're Gonna Be OK," "Call Me Back," "Heather's Deal," and "The End."
