Melissa Joan Buckley was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 27th, 1980. She grew up listening to her mom's RCA records Dolly Parton&Kenny Rogers. She had a God given gift at the age of 7 to write not only words but words of wisdom, pain, relief, sorrow, love and poverty. She grew up with a lot of love from her mother, father and older brother but the cards they were dealt made it hard for her and her family to live a normal, comfortable life. Moving from school to school and apartment to apartment was very overwhelming. When Melissa was 2 years old, her family moved back to their small hometown of Binghamton, New York where the economy wasn't promising at all. Her parents were working two jobs to make ends meet which made it hard for them to be home much which left Melissa and her brother responsible for raising themselves. Melissa's parents always showed them love and taught them if you have faith you can do the Impossible. Melissa knew no matter how bad things were, she was loved. She wrote daily about how cruel life can be but also wrote about how love can make you strong enough to be okay and how most of all, having faith is what really matters in life. Today, 28 year old Melissa resides with her family in Irmo, South Carolina. She has written over 100 songs, five of which have been produced into demos. With her strong faith she hopes to one day become a professional Country lyricist. She writes songs that relate to everyday life and also of her long journey to get where she is today. She is quoted as saying "It's not just about dreams, it's about faith and the passion you have. That's what will make you succeed!".
