Linden Hale Trio

About Me

Born in 1965 Linden Hale has performed professionally as a pianist for over 20 years. After studying Jazz piano in the early 1980s with Brian Priestley at Goldsmiths College, he learned his trade playing in clubs, bars, hotels and restaurants around the UK and Europe.Linden has also been involved in performing and production work as a session musician for a wide variety of projects and styles of music over the years, ranging from stage musicals to experimental electronica. He also has a passion for teaching and has been a music lecturer at Northampton College for the past 14 years. With his new band, Linden has returned to his first love - Jazz. He has put together a set incorporating many of his favourite influences including funk, soul, latin, hard bop and standards from the American song book along with some original compositions.Hi-energy improvisation, chromatic harmony, funky driving rhythms and experimentation are what this band is all about. The one thing for sure is that you'll never hear the same set twice.....The band is available for hire for a wide range of functions including private parties, corporate functions or events and weddings. The line up can be any of the following:Solo piano Duet with female vocal Piano trio with double bass and drums Vocal quartet (same as trio with female vocal) Instrumental quartet (same as trio with sax) Quintet (same as trio with female vocal and sax)Linden is also busy gigging with other line-ups and artists including: Charles Shienman, Frazer Alibone, Johnny Pugh, Ben Street, Gary Grace, Julie McKenna and many more....Linden also composes original piano music. 2 examples of his pieces ('Spangles' and '9-8ball') can be heard on this site.He has another myspace address for personal messages: www.myspace.com/lindenhale MyGen Profile Generator
