ALEXANDRE DE ORIO
Alexandre is 30 years old, resides in Sao Paulo and began his studies with Omar Campos (Oswaldinho do Acordeon), Valmir Tavares (Cover Guitarra) and Jonas Sant’anna (ULM). He has a Bachelor’s Degree in guitar at Faculdade de Artes Alcantara Machado (FAAM) under the study of Professor Marcelo Gomes, and after that he continued his studies with Michel Leme, Fernando Correa (Jazz Sinfonica) and Jarbas Barbosa (Banda Mantiqueira). Alexandre has a post-graduate in Musical Language and Structure at Faculdade de Musica Carlos Gomes and currently is a master’s degree student at Unicamp.
Alexandre played for a Big Band from ULM which was formed by Robert Sion, and also played for a Big Band composed by Maestro Branco (Maestro Branco and “Banda do Chefe”). Among some important performances, he played at Paralamas do Sucesso Concert at via Funchal as the opening band with Quarteto de Musica Popular Brasileira. He studied Orchestral Regency at ULM under the study of Maestro Luis Fernando Marchetti. Currently he has 4 consistent jobs and among them is a member of Quarteto de Guitarras Kromka. Some of the most important performances took place at Vila Mariana and Pompeia SESC, Praca do Choro along with Banda Mantiqueira and throughout the State of Sao Paulo promoted by Secretaria da Cultura known as Museu Vivo.
As a member of Claustrofobia Band, they have released 3 albums. The first one was released in 2000 (Claustrofobia), the second in 2002 (Thrasher), awarded the best album in national metal by Dynamite Magazine in that year, and the third in 2005 (Fulminant), which includes special participation of Andres Kisser (Sepultura) and Alex Camargo (Krisiun). Some of Claustrofobia most famous performances on TV are Musikaos (TV Cultura) along with Sepultura, MTV shows such as Jornal da MTV, Furia, Ultrasom, Jornal Hoje (TV Globo). Claustrofobia performed as the opening band in 2 major concerts; first with Soufly (Max Cavalera), Napalm Death, Paul Dianno (ex Iron Maiden) and the second at Sepulfest featuring Sepultura, Ratos de Porao and Nacao Zumbi. In April 2004 they toured throughout the Northern States of Teresina and Maranhao in Brazil.
In 2007 Claustrofobia spent 4 months touring around Europe and performed in Austria, Poland, Belgium, Swiss, Holland and in many cities in Germany, including a performance with the Polish band Vader. Alexandre is also a member of Big Band Swinging Sounds managed by Maestro Eduardo Rupperi, which is composed by businessmen, amateur musicians. Some of the most important presentations are performances at Theatro Municipal de Sao Paulo, Bourbon Street and Ibirapuera for globosat. He is also a member of Trio de Musica Brasileira e Jazz.
In the education field, Alexandre has been teaching guitar, Musical Theory and Perception classes since 1998 at Opus Music School (located at Rua Antonio Comparato, 130 Campo Belo) and also teaches private lessons.
