"B.U.S.H. - "São Paulo" LP
BUY US SOME HEROIN is unstoppable. First the self titled 7", and mandatory split EP with the fantastic DICK CHENEY, then the LP a few months ago and now this eight song 12". All are first rate. Most of the songs are sung in Portuguese, but the band is usually kind enough to provide translations in English. This particular record is a theme album, of sorts, since all the songs deal with their love/hate relationship with the overpopulated and crime-infested metropolis of São Paulo, Brazil. B.U.S.H. is not easy to compare to other bands, which of course is a good thing. What's even better is that they sound very old school without sounding like they are mimicking anyone. They are new and original without sounding too "new", if you know what I mean. They have maybe a REALLY RED influence, mixed with some Japanese hardcore and some psychedelic drugs laced with some uppers. São Paulo is slightly slower than previous efforts, but only in the good way of becoming their own sound. (BG) "
