Hello, and welcome to my space, ...... I am a proud American and Asatru ! ..... My family has fought, bled and died in every conflict of this Nation including this present one. ................ In 1666 my Great Grandfather Hendrick, (a descendant of Redbold, the last Pagan King of Frisia who, may I add, was the only one to kick Charles " the Hammer" Martel's Ass ! ), came to America from the Netherlands with his 6 children ( Adam - Eve - Jan - Kathlyntje - Bartholomeus and Hendrickje ) ......... They settled in the little town of Schenectady, where they worked their ass off making a new life in a new world. ....................In 1690 - 114 French along with 96 allied Indians ( Sault and Algonquin ) marched from Montreal, in the heart of the winter, planning to attack Fort Orange ( Albany NY ) but the winter proved to be to harsh. The French decided that the town of Schenectady would be a much easier target than Fort Orange. ........So in the dead of the night they fell on the unsuspecting town ............ Adam had become quite prosperous and had built his house like a mini fort, well stocked and armed, and this is where my family gathered to fight tooth and nail all threw the night. At some point the house was set on fire to smoke them out, Adams wife opened a door to let the smoke out but an Indian saw her threw the cracked door and shot her dead, her eldest daughter ran out the back door with their infant baby where they were captured in the ally and the babies brain's were dashed out on the wall .............. before the breach could be secured two of Adams boys ( Barent and Wouter ) were dragged from the house as prisoners ........... With the deturmanation of Rabid Wolverines my family kept a steady rain of gun fire till early in the morning when the French commander negotiated a cease fire but by then many of my family were dead including Hendrick Sr.,Bartholomeus, Hendrickje, along with most of the town ................. When the fighting had begun a very brave and courageous Dutchmen mounted his horse and despite being shot many times he rode all night arriving at Fort Orange by morning...He told them that Schenectady had been attacked by over 1000 men ............... Even though they had only 300 men they made all haste to Schenectady, picking up some Mohawk allies along the way ......... What they found at Schenectady inspired Walter Wilie, one of the troop, to write the poem "Massacre at Schenectady" (on my blogs) and sent them into such a rage that they pursued the French and indian's back up into Canada where they fell on their rear and killed with no thought of taking prisoners ........... What was left of the fleeing French and Indians only made it home by eating their horses..... Adam negotiated the release of his boys by 1698 ......... In 1712 Adam negotiated with 5 tribes of Mohawk Indian's for 600 acres of land including the nose shaped mountain that had marked the Mohawks border since times forgotten ( which still holds my families name to this day ). With the agreement that one of the tribes could stay on the land as long as they wished ....... They built mills for grain and grew much corn and wheat ............ In 1715 the Queen of Germany sent the Palatines with a title for the same said land, many fights broke out between my family and the Germans until the Germans were driven off the land and either out of America or down in Pennsylvania. .......One of Germans hid with the Indians and convinced the tribes of Mohawks that Adam had swindled them leading to the massacre of 1748 in which Adam and 60 towns folk were lured to prospect land and then all slaughtered ! ...........Three forts were built on our land the upper, middle and lower fort......Leading up to the Revolution a member of my family, Col. Peter Vrooman was on the Continental Congress of 1774, 1775, and 1777 only missing the signing of the Declaration due to him being a high ranking British officer. ...During the Revolution, besides all the members of my family who fought, our land became known as the bread basket of the Revolution, supplying General Washington with 80% of the food for his troops and horses, this fact made them subject of many attacks by the English and Torries, including a really bad Massacre in 1780.................After my grandfather Symon Janse Vrooman fought in the Revolution he moved his family to Canajoharie where my family worked as lumberjacks and river rats cleaning the Mohawk valley for access to lake Erie........By 1830 my family had migrated to Jackson Michigan and in 1878 my grandfather Simon Warner Vroman moved to Wolverine were he lumberjacked and farmed and this is where my family has lived ever since. Simon's son Robert was killed in WWI and is buried in France along the Meuse in Flanders Field. My grandpa was in WWII and his brother in Korea, and many who went to Veitnam and the Gulf. ........ I am a proud Patriot of these United States, even if our government had to trump up a "false" intention, I am for freedom of information, which has been deprived from us for far too long because of superstitious religions !!! ( see buried cities in my pics ) And I am down on dictators who suck the life out of hard working men and women !!! .... I am for Freedom ....or at least the illusion of it lol ... I am a seeker of wisdom and light and I am a practitioner of the sciences. I am interested in all things ancient, that is fruitful. And meeting new cool people........
