I was born and raised in Tyler TX, I came from a musical family, my brothers set me down on some bongos at age 6 and then I got my first drum set for Christmas, it was a gold sparkle Sonor set. That set would be worth thousands of dollars today, you never know what you had until it is gone.
I played sports all through school years, and played drums on the weekend in garage bands. Looking back I wish now I had played in the band. I played blues and rock & roll in high school. I grew up with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Rush, and about 500 old 45s and 8-tracks from everybody in the 60s and 70s
Now Im playing a set of TAMA Rockstars, it is a fusion set with a thundering bass drum (18 x 22) and I use an assortment of Sabian and Zildjian cymbals, each has its own distinct sounds and worthiness around the kit.
I have played clubs all over East Texas like, Clicks, Southlake Grill, The Halfmoon Bar & Grill, & Moms Biker Bar, Where's Rufus, just to mention a few you might know.Brett Brookshire..................................................
