I am a soldier. I have been now for 11 years. It is the one thing besides my son and my family that has a very deep place in my heart. In my home I have the Constitution and the flag encased because every morning I walk out my door I am reminded of who came before me and who sacrificed their lives for this country in the past and the present. If you don't stand behind us, please feel free to stand in front of us. It's what I am passionate about and it can bring a tear to my eye in a split second. I'm in the National Guard here in Washington and sometimes I get flak for wearing eye makeup because I am a soldier. I say, "Yes I am. But I am always a woman and a mother first." I absolutely love being a soldier. So...if that's to much for you, sorry you feel that way. But I like knowing that what I do, actually makes a difference. I love helping people and making people feel like they have no worries. I like doing for others before I do for myself. Changing the world is one small selfless act at a time.
Besides being a soldier I am a very down to earth, very low maintenance person. The simple things bring a smile to my face. Like watching my son play baseball and knowing he is happy, seeing flowers blooming in my backyard, or realizing it's Friday and I get to sleep-in in the morning. During the spring and summer seasons I love to explore Washington and what it has to offer by hiking, driving, fishing, camping, almost anything that gets me into the fresh outdoors. I am just an average woman. Okay...so not everything about me is average. I like shooting guns, camping, and hiking. I like to get dirty and I can bait my own hook, with a live worm! But I also like being a girl and getting all pretty for a date. What ever happened to men bringing flowers with them when they pick up a girl for a date? Or waiting to get to know a woman before you want to jump into bed with them? I ask for honesty when it comes to relationships. I respect people enough to not lie to them and I ask the same in return. Family is an important part of my life as well. Though they don't live close enough, I find the time to travel and see them when I can. I'm not into clubbing or going to bars every week either. But I like hanging out with friends at BBQ's, house parties or a local sportsbar. Last but not least...Alex is my son, my buddy, my best friend, and he will come first. I have other passions and dreams, but if I gave all those away, then there wouldn't be anything to ever talk about. So I'll keep those in my heart and wait to share them.

Ok, I could go on forever, but you get the point!!!

Meeting new friends is always a bonus. All the friends I have now are in the military, high school friends, and family, and we already know everything about each other. I like either having a girls night out, having friends over for BBQ's or just hanging out. I am kind of shy at first but once I get to know you, my sense of humor is sarcastic, but fun, and I tend to talk alot because I don't like awkward silence. The guy that shares the cubicle with me is like my twin brother, we're only two weeks apart. So we're always talking and making jokes with the other people we work with, if we're not making them about each other. Who needs a radio at work when you have us to entertain you? But never under estimate the payback from the "twin-brother from another mother" when you play a joke on him. He's the one that did the post-its all over my desk. I love where I work. So whoever I meet on my way through life is always a plus, because everyone can use a new friend. Whatever happens.....happens. No stress, no drama. Never regret something or someone that made you smile.

Music:

I am pretty diverse when it comes to music. If it's a good song then I usually like it. My main genres are rock and country though.

Movies:

Comedy, drama, scary, action. I really don't know what my favorite all time movie is because there were so many. I just like to feel like I am there, taken away.

Television:

I was addicted to Friends before they went off the air. Now I am hooked on LOST, The Unit, CSI (only the Vegas one), sports, history, and the News.

Books:

I read mostly romantic comedy books. Books that take me away for an hour or so.

Heroes:

My mom. She has accomplished so much in her life and I am so very proud of her. She graduated with her Bachelors in May 2006 and for a single Mom with three kids, I think it's awesome. She didn't let anything slow her down over the years and now she has found a wonderful man to share her life with. >< >< Every soldier who has ever raised their right hand to defend and honor their country, alive as well as dead.
