About Me

I just finished my undergrad in trumpet performance with an emphasis in jazz studies from the Lionel Hampton School of Music on full scholarship. I play trumpet, sitar, rhodes, bass, guitar, and percussion. I am a recent winner of the collegiate trumpet solo division at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz festival, giving me the opportunity to play with Lionel Hampton Big Band, Brazilian trumpet great, Claudio Roditi, Clayton-Hamilton's trumpeter, Clay Jenkins, and Bobby McFerrin. In addition, I've shared the stage with Willie Waldman (trumpet player who has recorded with Snoop Dogg, Tu-Pac), members from P-Funk, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Brian Jordan, Carlos Washington and Giant People, Jazzukha, Jigsaw Republic, Groove Patrol, Frame of Mind, Sol Jibe, Eightrack Mind, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Bongo Love, Royal Rangers, Interstate Groove Plus, Delta Nove, Alfred Howard and K23 Orchestra, Sweatshop Band, and Spokane 70. In summer of 2007 I was asked to join Long Beach-based samba/funk/reggae band, Delta Nove, but postponed their offer to finish school. In fall of 2007, I was blessed to meet Nepalese tabla pro, Navin Chettri; whom has inspired me to pursue classical Indian music on sitar. This collaboration has opened many doors of creativity and has given birth to Cadenza Collective -a jazz/afrobeat/Indian fusion group in Kathmandu, Nepal and Moscow, ID. Aside from my aspiring musical pursuits, I also love to draw and paint. From November 2005 until May 2006, I worked for the University of Idaho's campus newspaper the Argonaut as a cartoonist. I've also sold detailed portraits and paintings. If interested in comissioned graphic design or other artworks, let me know!
