About Me

Biography – Tracy Queen
Since 1994, Tracy has worked for Baltimore City Public School System as a Special Education Teacher and a Manager of Special Education Services. She worked with a self-contained class of students with a variety of disabilities. She was responsible for on-going assessments, writing Individual Education Plans (IEP’s), record keeping and daily lesson planning. She later was promoted to Manager of Special Education Services thus providing consultation and training to teachers and staff in implementing modifications and accommodations to students with disabilities. Other responsibilities included administering and writing quality educational assessments, providing IEP process management, chairing IEP meetings, and reviewing and monitoring confidential records of students with disabilities for compliance with COMAR (13A.05.01&2). She was also responsible for determining eligibility for special education services and making decisions about placement. She has a very strong record of including children with disabilities in the regular education classroom, surpassing the state requirements. All of but 13 children were included in the school she most recently worked for which services 400 children.
In addition to having served as Manager of Special Education services, she is the President of her tutoring and consulting business, Queen’s Mobile Education. Her company offers private and group tutoring for children with and without disabilities. She was a consultant for Plato Learning to drive Supplemental Education Services for inner city children in Baltimore. Her program provides a comprehensive program to after-school programs to meet all of their academic needs. Queen’s Mobile Education provided a comprehensive academic program for the Girl-Scouts, the McKim Center and The Boys and Girls Club in Baltimore. She is currently providing after-school programs for Northwood Appold Charter School, Inner Harbor East Academy for Young Scholars, Patterson Park Charter School, William Paca Elementary, Harford Heights Primary and Intermediate schools which are grant funded. She also provides services for the McKim Community Center which has driven for a second year students from the Casey Family Services, Jonestown Daycare, Boys and Girls Club, and children from several other surrounding schools. She also has an enrichment program at Southwest Baltimore Charter School. She is an IEP consultant for the Special Education Community Advisory Board (SECAC) of Baltimore City Public Schools. Tracy also has been a presenter for the After-School Institute, the CHADD organization, BCPSS, Omaha Nebraska’s Public School System and Safe Schools Healthy Schools to provide strategies to support effective instruction.
Tracy holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Goucher College in Maryland, and a Masters degree in Special Education. She also is a certified teacher by the Maryland State Department of Education, holds an Advanced Professional Certificate and Administrative 1 Certification (pending).
