REVIEW Live at The Luminaire, London 17.07.09 - remotegoat.co.uk
…By no coincidence, as TLS cleared the stage, Velvet's 'Venus in Furs' mingled with the rising crowd waiting for an upcoming band with very good references: National Club. This new band - with an epic sound - are on their way to record a first EP and embark on a UK tour that may bring something of a national surprise. Will Carter, the singer, is just one step away from being as charismatic as Brett Anderson or Bono Vox, and the satin stadium feel of the songs bring them close to hymn status so you could say it's just a matter of time for more people to be praising them...

National Club are a handful of children of the 80's and on the back of a few demo-recordings, have already featured on the ‘Best of MySpace’ iCast and gained fans at the Guardian, who describe National Club as ‘A splendid young band whose track Somebody Punched The King should be compulsory listening’.
Formed in London, National Club are Will Carter - vocals and guitar, Thomas Wyllys - bass and Bang Madsen of Danish descent on drums who moved to join the band back in 2007.
The band’s live highlights so far include sharing stages with London Black Market, Shock Defeat!, S.C.C.C. , Ten City Nation, Rose Dougall (ex-pipettes) and most recently The Travelling Band at London's Luminaire where the band previewed new material for their first E.P being recorded this year with producer Neil Bowerman.
The group will be playing a round of gigs this autumn before setting off on their first UK tour.
