its a fire............
Old vans, loud rock and roll and an intense passion for doing what they were born to do, drives the members of this power trio from Calgary, Alberta Canada, through the snake pits of the music industry. Between all three members they boast a collective tour resume that spans all over the states, Europe and Canada, showing no shortage of experience or successes amongst the members previous projects. With Todd Stewart (former Three Days Wiser) on vocals/guitar, Mike Wall (former Kybosh, Neurosonic) on Bass/vocals and Lynyrd Deville (former Stampede Queen) on Drums/vocals, the talent pool runs deep. All three members have fronted and toured with their own original projects, giving "its a fire" the arsenal of three lead singers, writers and respected live players. The road, in fact, is where the three met, at shows they shared with their former groups, forming friendships over the last 8 years and finally all coming together officially in 2007. Since the official inception "i.a.f" has been writing and recording songs for their upcoming debut release, putting a priority on forming a "sound" to interpret the vibed up offerings. This "sound" is the common thread embodied in each individual, it is the intense passion and relentless appettite that is brought to the table at each show and every session. It is a fire.Liberator and frontman Todd Stewart, has seen his fair share of Canada and the cold road, fronting the Edmonton based band Three Days Wiser in support of their self titled debut for 553,000 kilometers (in one van). During these years he cut his teeth as a performer and professional musician, crafting his own vocal style and his charismatic stage presence. The band garnered industry attention and airplay but fell to the split in musical direction of the group. Bassist and heavy assault, Mike Wall, carries the most miles under his belt, touring Kybosh throughout Canada and more recently all over the world with (Bodog's) Neurosonic. He is the unsettled and uncompromising heavy cloud that rules the low, his tone and style is distinguished and mean. Mike is a dominant stage presence with snarly vocals and a love for big melodies that flex the muscle of pop. And in third, not last, is the ground "i.a.f" lays they're foundation upon, the adrenaline .....Lynyrd Deville. Lynyrd is an accomplished singer, laying out full range harmonies, he is the motor and the thunder as well as the engineer and ears behind the board. There is an unapologetic "Bonham pound" to his style and he carries an ear for a thick foundation with room for melody and vibe. After only a handful of road shows in 2008 "i.a.f" took a break from the road to dedicate time to their first offering. "Its a fire" is slated for an independent early summer release in 2008. The band is currently recording and producing their anticipated album in their own Calgary studio. With shows already in the works to support the summer release and a hard road attitude, "its a fire" is ready to crawl through the snake pit once again.
