The Floydian Slips
Celebrating 10 Years Of Slippery Floyd Tribute
The Northwest musical collective known as The Floydian Slips gathers once again on Halloween Night (Friday October 31, 2008) for a huge performance at the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon . Born from an idea to play through Pink Floyd's classic 'Dark Side Of The Moon', this 8-piece juggernaut has grown into one of the most spot-on Floyd Tribute bands. Without touring (ever) and having performed only about 25 times in their 11-year history, The Floydian Slips have expanded from playing the 450-seat Wild Duck Music Hall to packing the 4500-seat Cuthbert Amphitheater (both in Eugene). With spot-on vocals, perfect guitar solos, epic keyboard layers and true-to-life drum and bass grooves, the real Floyd experience is achieved through a gigantic light show including lasers, video, and props (the local police recently thwarted their plan to buzz the audience with a real helicopter). The band approaches this classic music with all the swagger and attitude of the men who wrote it, and never fail to impress the nay-sayers while delivering the goods for the fanatics. Having performed "Dark Side" “Animals†and "The Wall" in their entirety several times, setlists also include most of the "Wish You Were Here" album and reach into the broader catalog of “Meddle,†“Saucerful of Secrets and “Momentary Lapse of Reason,†all played with great care to reproduce the original sounds and feelings as closely as possible.
