Throughout entertainment history they have been many famous professors. There was the famous professor on Gilligan's Island, then there was professor Griff of Public Enemy, and Professor Ovaee from "The Parkers." Now a new professor is joining the famous alumni, and he Ra Shawn-DA-Professor for DA-Doo-Dirty Show. Dubbed DA-Professor by DJ Baker for his knowledge of music history, Ra Shawn became a part of Baker's show in October 2007, where he does looks for Gay and Hetero recording artist from around the world and requests them for music and interviews, while he occasionaly reports on what's happening in the music and adult entertainment industry. Orginally from Harlem, and currently residing in Brooklyn, Ra Shawn has been into music since he was child, but he later got into doing research on recording artists, after Michael Jackson released his classic album "Thriller" which lead to him reading and collecting articles on the gloved one and his family as well as watching videos of the classic video show "New York Hot Tracks" which exposed him to many artists from overseas including Culture Club, Musical Youth, Phil Collins and Kim Wilde. He later became a huge fanatic and scholar on the legacy of Motown after reading Original Supremes co-founder Mary Wilson's book. It was that book that got him hooked to the sound of Young America, along with autobiographies written by other artists including Otis Williams, Smokey Robinson, Michael Jackson, Martha Reeves and Gladys Knight. While attending BMCC, DA-Professor had the opportunity to work at Columbia Records in the summer of 1991, where he learned about the publicity department. His knowledge earned him an internship at Artista records three years later, where he assisted the staff in helping coodinate press kits and updating the label's artists career information. He also was a member of the Black Filmmakers Foundation. After graduating, he enrolled in Brooklyn College part-time and wrote for the Excelsior and Kingsman Newspapers, where at the later publication, interviewed many entertainers including Former Supremes Mary Wilson and Susaye Green (who are his idols) as well as legendary singers and rappers Chaka Khan, Killer Mike, DJ Envy, Native, Dizzee Rascal and novelists Kenji Jasper, Daryl C.
