Reigning from his stomping grounds of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado, and presently residing in Denver, Tim Yunker blends his obsession with various harmonies and a capella pieces in creating his signature, R&B/Soul sound. As a singer/songwriter, the Hip-Hop layer of his secular sound becomes evident in the beatboxing, rhythms and synths that are juxtaposed throughout his songs. Growing up in a musical household where he was saturated in the listening pleasures of Old School, Jubilee Gospel and Folk music, Tim Yunker never received formal, instrumental or vocal training. Influenced by such industry artists who include, The Golden Gate Quartet, Sam Cooke, Anthony Hamilton, Cee Lo Green, Led Zeppelin, Marvin Gaye, Notorious BIG (best all time), Nas, Eminem, The Roots, Rahzel, KRS-One and oldies like Blind Willie Johnson, Tim released his first full length album Travelin' Shoes in September of 2008. Shortly thereafter, Alex Buxton added his unique bass style to the mix. With major influences like Les Claypool, Flea, Victor Wooten, Fieldy, Rancid and Rage Against the Machine, Alex uses his rhythmic, melodic slap and pull style to create what can only be described as something new. The duo use unique instrumentation and vocal styles to evoke a strong sense of emotion in the listener. Duck and Cover, the duo’s first full length, is now available for purchase.[LOVEMYFLASH]
