I really like the sound of that. In that one simple title, we are defined. When Constantine auditioned on American Idol singing Cryin’ by Aerosmith. People from across the nation and other countries stopped and listened. Some of those people were intrigued, some were instant fans, some were only mildly interested, at first.Those that were instant fans or as we call them “fangirly” and those that were intrigued ventured onto a website called idolonfox. For many this was a first time experience into the cyberworld. These people searched throughout the site for like minded people. Two of those people, became fast friends and with what is now over thousands of posts later between the two of them.. started talking about Constantine. So, the thing was to name “your group” on that website. So the pressure was on. I was a lot quieter in the early days, well for 3 or 4 days anyway. And I witnessed several names being tossed around. It didn’t take long for the decision to be made…
The Greek God Groupies were born. I could go on and on and for those of you that know me, you know that I do. I could tell you, of our triumphs and of our heartbreaks. I could tell you of our open door policy to people that are really interested in keeping up with Constantine and looking for likeminded friends. I could tell you about the trolls and the grief. Yes, we are the Original. Yes, we are the ones that built a thread of over 60,000 posts that was taken down and we are the same GGG’s that rose from the ashes and rebuilt an astonishing new thread of over 200,000 before we created threadicide on Black Wednesday. We are the group that traveled to AI concerts with “I’m only here for Constantine” shirts on. We are the group that traveled to countless Betty Shows, Constantine sightings and Constantine Solo shows. I’m not saying we are exclusive in that.. but, we have always been there. And never doubt it.. whether you love us or hate us.. The OGGG’s will continue until they pry our key boards out of our cold dead hands.
So to you my dear friends, people that I cherish so much. Thank you for continuing on this journey with me. To you newcomers, come on in, sit a spell, take your shoes off. You are Welcome. And, to you Constantine. Thank you for acknowledging us. Thank you for remaining true to yourself. Come visit anytime your schedule allows. We’ll see you under the bright lights dear man. Long Live Constantine.
