I used to practice for 8 hours a day sometimes for five years straight. My twenties consisted of school, guitar, work, and more guitar. I can't stress enough the importance of knowing the fretboard inside and out. Scales are the key that unlocks the door of your persona on the guitar. Of course I am still learning and I am not famous nor do I seek that. I don't even seek the approval of others either really. I don't really care if they don't like my music. I don't really write it for people to just enjoy. I write music for the Lord Jesus and my family. If people like it and enjoy it, then that is a plus for me. I just plain love to play and the instrument can take you to another place into deeper more intimate worship and expression that no other art can do in my opinion.
