Hooch Dupree and the Whiskey Priest

About Me

born in the ozarks in the middle of the twentieth century, hooch dupree learned at a young age that you have to be tough to survive. this was the motivation for him picking up the banjo - self defense.
hooch met the whiskey priest hiding out in the badlands in 1977. an escaped political prisoner, the priest was on the run from the CIA for his aid and support of socialist worker's orginizations in central and south america. it was at a sunday matinee showing of the film "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," that their deepest hidden longings found a voice, and that great american highway opened up before them like the pearly gates of Paradise.
armed with their instruments, matching rosary beads, a hammer, and a sense of adventure, hooch dupree and the whiskey priest traverse this vast land in search of new people, new places, and a home for their songs.
