De Phunk Gotti started Products Of My Environment in 1992. P.O.M.E.
consisted of DePhunk Gotti and Shay West in '92. Shay West went to jail in Las vegas Nevada for pimping and pandering and is currently serving a life sentence.
Meanwhile, DePhunk Gotti stayed on the music scene and went on the
"Fuckin' Wit Dank" tour from the
Pooh man "Life Of A Criminal" album on F.B.I./In A Minute records. Shortly after that tour, DePhunk Gotti went back on tour with
Pooh-Man for the album
"Funky As I Wanna Be" on Dangerous/Jive records in 1993.
DePhunk Gotti co-wrote Pooh-Man's album "Judgement Day" on Righteous Records/Scarface records.
In
1994 DePhunk Gotti reformed P.O.M.E. with P-Funk (a.k.a. Fast Blaq) and 20Sak (formerally of 187Fac). The new P.O.M.E. (now on City Boy Records) made their debut with the song
"Murder Rap" on Pooh-Man's album "Ain't No Love" on In-A-Minute Records.
In
1994,
Def Jam Recordings A&R rep. Tina Davis offered P.O.M.E. a deal rumored to be in the mid-six figures, but shady management stopped the deal from getting inked. Shortly after that, P.O.M.E. was offered a deal with
Pookie/Interscope under the management of
Raphael (Tony Toni Tone) Saddiq, but the contract details forced P.O.M.E. to pass on the offer.
In
2004, P.O.M.E. broke up and DePhunk Gotti left City Boy Records to form
D.Stone Records Inc.
Personally, DePhunk Gotti was born and raised on the tough
Brookfield Village area of East Oakland, California. DePhunk Gotti faced tremendous economic hardships that most young men faced in that region. DePhunk Gotti admits that unfortunate lessons were learned the hard way and those valueable lessons kept DePhunk Gotti determined to achieve success in the rap game.
In
2003, DePhunk Gotti made his acting debut in the motion picture
"Is It Worth It (Gangsta Paradise)" starring Beenie Man and Ninja Man. "Is It Worth It (Gangsta Paradise)" was produced by 3G Films/Bentouttashape Productions.
