About Me

DJ, producer. I have new tracks coming out on Tarantic Records, Mercury Retro, and Evasive music.

My Interests

Playing and Writing TracksBorn in Beirut, Lebanon in 1973, Naz Vartanian has always had an intense love for music. He is an incredibly modest musician; even those that know him well do not realize his musical roots and formal background. Naz is a classically trained concert pianist and has played since the age of 4. He continued his training at a prestigious fine artists magnet high school, and in 1991 was accepted to The Julliard School at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts in New York. Although circumstances did not allow him to attend, Nazs love for music has always driven him to persevere. Naz is also an accomplished drummer, guitar and bass player. You can find him playing these and other instruments on his music releases. As a house music producer since 1991, Naz has been perfecting his unique blend of deep, funky house. Recently, he has released music on labels such as MDEX & Funky Dope Recordings. Be on the lookout for Nazs latest project, K-Soze recordings. In addition, Naz has teamed up with San Franciscos legendary synth-artist/producer SEN-SEI to form the production team, The Larrys. Expect great things from this new dynamic duo. In early 2001, Naz approached Throwdown.com founder, Mr. Jeff Barrows (a.k.a. DJ Splice), with the committed belief to make Throwdown.com the premier music streaming website specializing in the promotions of artists, musicians, and Djs. Its a digital extension offering a window to a worldwide audience. In July of 2002, DJ Naz partnered up with Leonard OCampo and opened IN-HOUSE Records located in San Francisco. Throwdown.com and IN-HOUSE Records joined forces, becoming a complete .. record store. When Djs from all over the world visit San Francisco, a visit to IN-HOUSE is a mandatory stop. As a skilled DJ, Naz can be found ripping up the dance floors up and down the west coast, educating people with his definition of deep, funky, soulful house music. Hes shared billing with colleagues such as Doc Martin, Tony Hewitt, Grant Dell, Simon, Jeno, Garth, Markie Mark, Buck, and Ellen Ferrato (just to name a few) in cities ranging from San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara and Fresno. And thats just the West Coast. Not afraid to pack a bag of his coolest cuts and jump on a plane, Naz has represented in cities ranging from Albuquerque New Mexico all the way to Miami Florida. DJ Naz is ambitious, driven, and talented. Need proof? Ask anyone in San Francisco, or better yet, hit him up yourself at the shop. With his extensive knowledge, ability to get the best vinyl, and desire to constantly keep his skills sharp, Naz is a name you wont easily forget.
