About Me

I have successfully completed the Marathon!!!! My official chip time was 4:59:37! I want to thank everyone for their support! I am now touring Europe (At time of writing in a bike tour/internet shop in Paris) I will be updating my blog soon. Stay tuned and thanks again!--------------------------- And here's the marathon story, the beginning at least..Three and half years ago I weighed nearly 300 lbs and smoked over a pack a day. In the last several years I have succesfully lost over hundred pounds as well quit smoking. Having come this far in my transition I have decided to take a big challenge, I AM RUNNING A MARATHON!I am training for the 2006 Florence Marathon, which will take place on November 26, 2006. From June until November, I'll be logging nearly 500 miles in this six-month training program put on by the National AIDS Marathon. It's an exciting journey. And even though I'll be getting up at the crack of dawn, and I may have my share of aches and pains, I know it will be worth it.The money I raise will benefit Whitman-Walker Clinic, the largest provider of HIV/AIDS services in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Their Clinic provides direct medical care, food, housing and other really important AIDS services -- to help keep people alive until there's a cure.I hope you will come out to cheer during the marathon. But whether you can be there or not, I hope you will show your support now with as generous a contribution as you can make. My personal goal is to raise at least $3,700 by Friday, August 25, 2006. Your contribution is tax-deductible and it will make a huge difference in the lives of thousands of people living with AIDS.Thanks for your generous support.
