Formerly known as The Kids at the Back of the Bus, the Band is a tight-knit three piece of rock solid musicians comprised of Lovina (lead vocals, guitar), Cathy (vocals, bass guitar), and Chicken (drums). The personal relationship between the band members is what creates a certain closeness in their music which is almost tangible. The Band was the love child creation of Chicken and Lovina, spawning from a 1995 demo tape of Lovina's band Oversoul which she played for Chicken shortly after they began dating in May of 2002. When he heard the songs from the demo, Chicken thought they were too good not to be played. He said, "I could drum to this," and so it was, he and Lovina jammed together for the first time on May 28, 2002. This was the birth of The Band.
Not so coincidentally, the day Chicken and Lovina call their anniversary is their bassist Cathy's birthday. It just fits that she would eventually become their bass player. The Band had been through two bassist changes which seemed to be the only volatile slot in the band relationship. Finding someone to match the intensity between Chicken and Lovina was a challenge. In February 2006 Lovina dropped by to visit her long time friend Cathy. Neither were currently active in their bands at the time. They decided to jam together and it was awesome. It would be the rebirth of the Band. Fueled by an electrifying chemistry, Chicken and Lovina's music has always had a unique raw quality. Add Cathy's powerful bass attacks and spooky vocal harmony infused into this essence and you have the true incarnation of The Band.
In August 2006, Razors for Rosemary officially disbanded when Cathy called it quits to pursue other musical interests. No professional recordings exist of The Band. Just a few live recordings from practices are all that remains.
