The Man Behind the Name
Critics call this hot young artist a Trail Blazer instead of a Path Finder in entertainment. Calvin Bonds is a native of Memphis, TN. and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. This scholar attained a Bachelor's Degree in English and Music from the only H.B.C.U in Memphis, LeMoyne-Owen College. He also studied and performed Italian Opera in Pisa, Italy, for two summers at the University of Pisa. He studied theater at the Memphis Arts Alliance and the Black Repertory Theater.
“Entertainment is what God has called me to do," proclaims Calvin Bonds.
In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles to further pursue a career in entertainment. His rigorous workout allowed him the opportunity to do runway modeling for shows like the popular Magic Show and the Project Show in Las Vegas. He has established a name as a renowned runway coach for various venues throughout the Los Angeles area. He continued to cultivate his acting skills by studying under Chip Fields Hurd, Eric LaSalle (ER), Willard Pew (Harpo from "The Color Purple"), APS Productions Acting Workshop, etc., and an array of other coaches/ workshops.

Calvin Bonds has served as a stand-in for Actor/Comedian DL Hughley as a television show host on a Pilate called "LIAR". He has starred on two episodes of America's Next Top Model and has also been featured on shows like Bill Bellamy's "Who Got Jokes", "The Parkers", and “The West Wing”. Calvin has made four independent films: “It’s Christmas,” “Buckets of Blood,” "The Story of Jonah" and "All That"; he has done a host of theater projects, including the award winning musical, "De Obeah Mon".
Calvin has hosted the internet/cable access show called "Holla", the teenage show “Youth Unlimited,” and the popular LA show “G-TV” (Gospel TV). Calvin is also known for his National Pizza Hut Commercial...Congrats!!! His team includes representation by Hollywood Celebrity Publicist, John L. Moore, Commercial Agency, Number One Talent, Theatrical Agency, Spirited Life, and his own premiere agency, Calvin Walker Agency.
Calvin Bonds is motivated by the idealism that "entertainment is a business and each entertainer is the entrepreneur; the success of the business depends on the diversity of the entrepreneur" . Because of this belief, Calvin Bonds has earned an Executive Master's in Business Administration from Irvine University, a Doctorate degree in Ministry from F.I.C.U. and he is currently working on his Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religious Fine Arts (Drama).

When he is away from the camera, Calvin along with his business partner, T.J. Walker (one of the Founders of Cross Colours) runs CALVIN WALKER, a Design Consulting and Entertainment Company. Dr. Calvin Bonds also serves as a Research Analysis professor at one of America’s most notorious Universities for Fashion Design and Merchandising (FIDM).
Calvin's ultimate goal is to motivate, facilitate and empower through the dissemination of information in the fields of Education, Corresponding, Acting and other various forms of entertainment. With a couple of television shows in the works and a list of accolades that can be compared with the likes of any industry veteran, it's safe to say that Calvin Bonds is a Revolutionist for today's world!!!

Q: Calvin, man lets be real, you're an awesome entertainer, businessman, and professor; share with us an unforgettable moment you recently experienced.
A: (thinking)…uh okay, I was on the Red Carpet at Oprah Winfrey’s Premiere of The Great Debators. Oprah was flooded with paparazzi swarming around. She broke away from them, walked up to me and greeted me with a big hug. She smiled at me as though she was at my red carpet (Calvin shakes his head and smiles). She taught me the true meaning of staying grounded, no matter how big you are. Oprah, I love ya!!!
Q: You have quite a busy travel schedule this year. How do you do it man?
A: Success is a team effort. No matter if I’m here, meeting with a client in Hong Kong, or vacationing in Africa, I am assured that my team, my true backbone is diligently working for the success of the business. They Rock!!! (smiling)
Q: What would you like to say to your friends, family, supporters and your fans?
A: Well I'm living life like the next man. I work long hrs too whether on the set, at a shoot somebody's runway, giving a seminar/lecture or even doing my research. In the complexity of my simple life, I say to you what my mother has said to me, “You can do it, just shoot for the stars.”
