My favorite time of day on a show day--other than the show itself--was always the time of day I call the Golden Hour. The Golden Hour starts when the stage is ready, the crew has left for dinner break, and the venue falls quiet after the sounds of a busy day of set-up and teamwork. The sun is usually beginning to set, and it's as if the venue--which has rested all day while getting primped--takes its cue from the first fans starting to arrive outside and decides it's time to wake up and get ready for Showtime. This is my cue to find something to do out in the empty House so I can catch a few minutes of the feeling of the venue slowly waking up...You can almost feel the building yawn, stretch, and come to life, and about 45 minutes later, the energy in the building has changed dramatically and the atmosphere crackles...Kind of like the venue is starting to buzz from its first hit of espresso. If you can relate to the above scenario--or if you're looking forward to it someday--join my Friends list and check out the MusicBizAdvice.com website.(The website is also the best place to reach me if you need a music business consultant, by the way.)Meanwhile, never give up on your dreams.LEGAL STUFF: Appearance in MusicBizAdvice Editor's Friends List or elsewhere in our MySpace communications implies no endorsement, nor does it imply a business or personal relationship with said companies and individuals, and MusicBizAdvice Editor and MusicBizAdvice(dot)com are not responsible for any dealings you may have in connection with said companies or individuals.
