Like the city that spawned it, the music of A Darker Broadcast is a mish-mash of different influences. From the grittiness of downtown's many abandoned buildings to the sweet melodies of motown, the music of A Darker Broadcast is uniquely Detroit.The band, which has been gaining momentum and building a loyal fan base in the bars and clubs of Detroit for the past two years is poised to take it's special brand of rock to a national audience.The music of A Darker Broadcast mixes the brooding melodies of the Smiths with the frenzied energy of the Misfits. On stage, A Darker Broadcast is a turbulent whirlwind of impassioned resonance.A Darker Broadcast draws its influences from such early punk heavyweights as Black Flag and the Decendents to alternative rock bands like Dinosaur Jr. and Jawbreaker.The band has already made waves locally, drawing huge crowds for shows at local venues; opening for bands such as Bowling for Soup, Reel Big Fish and Luckyboys Confusion; and playing the local stage at the Detroit stop of the 2004 Warped Tour.
