About Me

You are now marked on my profile visitor map!Let's take rockabilly's juvenile fire mix that with a groovy, slightly offbeat rhythm and add some genuine, jumpy Boogie feel to it and you get the "deLorain's Stray Bullets" sound. In the end call it "Desperate Boogie" and you get a brand that makes people dance and move around. "deLorain's Stray Bullets" - usually a trio - is Laurens G., guitarist, singer and songwriter, accompanied by a rhythm section. There are a few of them. Laurens G. drifts between these line-ups. The main one - the cool strokin' inc. - comes from Brussels / Belgium; another one is from Braunschweig / Germany - the rough ridin' inc.. He may go on stage solo as well, or as a duo. For many of his recordings he teams up only with his producer Admiral James T., therefor he's one of the knights taking place at Admirals table. Go and have a look at DaLa Produkte, second one from top left in the Top Friends list, where you get more to know about Laurens "PureLoveofSpeed" label and where you may order records, CD's of this very band, the deLorain's Stray Bullets.

Influences: Oh, yes, there were a few, a long time ago. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .It all started with Teddy Boy Rock 'n' Roll. . . . . I had - once - a lotsa more than just the one record of Elvis, will say I know a lot about Rockabilly. Doesn't mean I wanna play it, there are way much groovier beats. But Rockabilly is a great version of a primeval kind of punk style. Then there are a few early 80's British Musicstyles like New Wave, Ska, . . . older British Styles like Pubrock, Oi (only Cock Sparrer). . . . . . . . . . . I listenend a lot to Crazy Cavan and the Rhythm Rockers, Levi and the Rockats, Bauhaus, Spear of Destiny, Echo and the Bunnymen, Specials, Orange Juice/Edwin Collins, Gun Club/Jeffrey Lee Pierce just to name them. Seems like a kinda strange combination. It just happened that way. . . . Like I mentioned this was a long time ago. Then I closed down my history book of music. Already at that time it started to repeat itself, but today, what should I say . . . . . . . . . Nowadays I don't follow any scene. . . . . . . . . . If you walk through life with open eyes, in the end you gonna grow out of any scene. Scenes are families, but can become a trap, where there's no escape. Good old days are gone, and you can't just spend the rest of your life with looking back, hanging around in bars, and reminiscing of younger days, while you're at your sixth, seventh or whatever beer. It seems that fu**in' easy to park the car in a dead end street and givin' up on the way, you still have to walk. But anyway, those days I can't hide that feeling, that I'm walking - most of the time - through desert, and I wonder, what and why it keeps me going. I guess you have to call that thing: life - and that my mother and my father always will and should be proud of her kin, her son. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Now if I'm in need to put on a record, then I listen to Muharem Serbezovski, Yugo - Bosnian Psychedelic Pop from the Seventies. Or I listen to my myspace friends, there are a few, where I can't otherwise than becoming a devoted fan again, like I was in younger days. Listening to their songs makes my heart jump of joy. . . . . . . . . . . Go and just have a look at my top friends list! . . . . . . . Brigitte Handley is great, the Detonators rock, Francine blows you away and Junior Brown is God! And Admiral James T. is a fine multi talented musician; my producer, - a friend, who's givin' me sometimes more credit then I would do towards myself. He kept me alive. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You know - Life ain't always that easy. What am I telling you . . But music is a weapon, that might giving you a hand, helping you a lot on the way, especially when you can't loose that feeling, that you're in the middle of the desert, . . . . . . . . . . .
