I love all kinds of music!! It is a blessing that my father was a DJ for crowds of different genres. My daddy use to play Dave Brubeck-Take 5 on the piano when we were little. I love R&B/Rap/Jazz/Neo-soul/reggae etc...but I am an old soul when it comes to music as well. I love Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, Grover Washington Jr, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Teena Marie is my girl yall, Corrine Bailey Rae, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott,Musiq Soulchild,Tupac,Biggie, LL Cool J representin farmers blvd queens real hard!!!,Monie love, Queen Latifah, Raheem Devaughn,Faith Evans Mary J. Blige....Many artists old and new I love it!!! This list could very well stretch through infinity yall. Music is reminisces of pieces of my life and I could go on forever!
I love suspense Dramas, and "scary movies" like SAW and Hostel and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wrong turn. I also like comedies because I love to laugh. Sometimes I love a good cry so I like chic flicks like Love Jones, Steel Magnolia and Terms of Endearment.I like all kinds of movies as I do music as long as they don't have ridiculous endings!
TV lets see......I love very funny and dramatic tv shows. I love friends, and King of Queens, Will and Grace, Sex and the City, ER, Greys Anatomy, Everybody Hates Chris. I also like SOME reality shows The Real World, Road Rules, Laguna Beach, and The Hills...and yes I still love Oprah and Soaps although I don't get to watch them much but now they have the late night soap channel---All My Children, One Life To Live, and General Hospital.
I love to read African American literature mostly non-fiction and pertaining to the advancement of African Americans in multitude of ways. My favorite authors are Carter G. Woodson, Tavis Smiley, Zora Neale Hurston, Michael Eric Dyson, Richard Wright, Tony Morrison, and of course Maya Angelou. Hopefully one day, I will be one of my favorite authors.
My heroes are primarily my immediate family members, especially my Dad. First, my mother for giving us life and forgiving my sister and I for putting her in the hospital on New Years Eve and New Years Day 2 years in a row!!! My sister is my hero for showing me what the best Mom in the world looks like. I am a proud auntie of 4 which includes a set of beautiful twin boys. My brother is my hero for showing me what a wonderful life I would have if only I were the youngest, I mean can somebody buy me a $400 ipod for my Bday??? And finally, my Dad!!! Daddy has made me the most intellegent, well rounded, and cultured person anyone could possibly be. I've seen the best sights of New York, fished, gone to aquariums and planatariums. My Dad has constantly blessed us with daily music and history trivia and I even got some hussle in me and on top of that I have a damn near perfect sense of direction, who could ask for anything more?!
