Semillas de mi Tierra was formed in 1990 by Raices de mi Tierra as a way of giving back to the community. Every year, a director of Semillas is chosen, and teaches the children a region from Mexico to perform in the annual Raices de mi Tierra folklorico show. This is an absolute free program. The Semillas directors fundraise, and find funds in order to pay for all of the childrens costumes. Not only do they learn part of the Mexican culture, but these students have a connection with college students in which instills these students to succeed in school and encourages them to go to college.Semillas 2006-2007 Performing Baja California
