About Me

For booking, more info., or just to say hi, contact me at [email protected]*************************************** ********************* NEW SONGS! I recently uploaded some new songs from the forthcoming Savage Patty album "One Planet, One Breath." These are rough mixes - a preview of what's to come! Let me know what you think ... ************************************************************ I believe music can be a spiritual force. When done right (from the soul, always, in my book), it can create an intense, positive energy within & without. Today I live my life dedicated to music, playing in bands and working at a cool guitar shop in Boulder. My life took quite the winding path to get here, but I’m grateful to be where I am. I grew up in a small town in Northwest NJ, in a musical family. My father, Michael Cupolo, was a professional sax player and music teacher. I still remember the day he brought home my first electric guitar (and I still have the guitar!). However, I didn’t get serious about music until much later, though I’ve always played in bands throughout my life. I went to college at Rutgers University, getting an English degree. After graduating I went into journalism, working as an editor, reporter & photographer. Some of the highlights from that career were meeting & interviewing some of my musical heroes, including B.B. King and Buddy Guy. From there, I went on to work as a political activist in Democratic campaigns, eventually managing some state senate campaigns in NJ and working as a consultant. In 1998, I moved to Boulder, CO and found my new home in the Rocky Mountains. I immediately started playing in bands around Colorado; one of the biggest shows was opening for Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder with a swing/jump blues band. I went on to form the “power trio” Hotfoot with some great folks, and we played all around CO, performing in some cool rooms like The Fox Theatre, The Bluebird Theatre, and Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom (and a slew of roadhouses in between). I've also performed extensively with the rock 'n roll band The Broken Everly's. Currently I am working on an album with the band Savage Patty (click the friends link below for more info!) I also play in the "at-large" acoustic blues & folk duo Dogtooth Canyon, with my good friend, Matt Meighan.
