History:
MUCC was started in the spring of 2000. Frustrated at the lack of activities on campus, and especially at the lack of live music in the Decatur area, two Millikin students decided to create a student organization to remedy this problem. After gathering some of their close friends with similar interests together and filling out the proper paperwork, MUCC became official. Their first semester together was an instant success. With the funding of only $600, MUCC was able to put on two shows that provided entertainment for over 300 people combined.
MUCC is funded by the university, so we dedicate ourselves to providing quality, substance free entertainment at affordable prices to the Millikin and Decatur communities. Our shows are open to everyone.
How to join:
After a few years of producing shows, MUCC has begun to work out all of the kinks that a new organization has. They have developed a board of executives, a constitution, a group of enthusiastic members, and a proven history of providing quality entertainment. Membership is open to any Millikin student, and we encourage all to attend. All that you have to do is show up to our meetings, and you're in.
How MUCC is run:
MUCC meets at 8:00 on ALL Thursday nights in room 315 in Shilling Hall on Millikin University's campus. All students interested in providing shows for campus or with good ideas for shows, feel free to come to a meeting and join.
MUCC sponsors 3 major shows a semester, as well as the SPEC concert series. Our executive board handles most of the work for the big shows, while we turn over the SPEC series to the rest of the organization. Every aspect of the shows are handled by our students, from booking and promotion, to the setup, execution, and tear down on the day of the show. If any of this interests you, please make it out to one of our meetings!
