Lorraine Bracco wineLorraine Bracco, who plays Tony’s poker-faced therapist on “The Sopranos,” says she learned to love wine at her family’s dinner table (her father was Italian) in Brooklyn. Bracco chooses the varietals for her Bracco Wines from various producers in Italy. They include Barolo, Amarone Classico, Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, Montepulciano, Pinot Grigio, Brunello Di Montalcino and Primitivo.

Lorraine Bracco developed her passion for fine wines when she spent some formative years in France, working as a young model. Now her new wine is finding some followers. According to the NY Post, the authors of 'What to Drink With What You Eat' deemed Bracco's pinot grigio perfect for fresh-shucked clams and oysters at the wine tasting she hosted last week at her Southampton home. We now carry Bracco Pinot Grigio and Montepulciano.

FEATURE WINES FOR OUR STORE 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Creek Valley
The bouquet of this rich, balanced Cabernet Sauvignon shows ripe black cherry and black currant with hints of vanilla and black pepper. On the palate, elegant flavors of ripe black cherry, currant and creamy spice are complimented with hints of dark chocolate. Additional Bordeaux varietals are key to this wine as the flavors are well integrated without being overpowering. The result is a wine that is extremely food friendly and should compliment an array of foods from pizza to steak.

2003 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona ATEO Italian Red
In 1989, a difficult year that fell in between two excellent vintages, we created a wine named ATEO (meaning atheist) as a consequence of our decision not to produce Brunello in less than ideal vintages. This decision coincided with the first harvests from our Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vineyards. While it came into existence as a provocation, Ateo is now an estate classic with a long fermentation and ageing in small French oak barriques. Grape varietal : Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Ageing : The Sangiovese is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels. The Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot are aged in barriques and tonneaux for about 18 months. Organoleptic characteristics : Intense bouquet featuring strong fruit backed by pleasant spice. Great structure and power yet soft and balanced. This is a wine with a great personality and length.

2003 Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona POGGIO DELLA FONTE TOSCANO ROSSO
Poggio della Fonte is the hill that overlooks the Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona property. This multifaceted wine is suited to day to day drinking and is easily matched with all foods. Its excellent price to quality ratio places Poggio D'Arna immediately at the head of its category. Grape varietal : Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. Organoleptic characteristics: The bouquet is intense and fruity with a note of herbs and spice. This wine is ready for drinking, full bodied, soft and balanced. Food pairings : This is a very versatile wine and can accompany all courses of a meal, including meat-based first and second courses, salami and cheese.

Robert Mondavi 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Our Cabernet Sauvignon expresses Napa Valley’s diverse soils and climates with velvety, complex layers of cassis, blackberry, mocha and spice. Gentle handcrafting, including aging French oak chateau barrels, fully expresses the delicious character of Napa Valley terroir.

Rutherford Hill 2002 Merlot Napa Valley
Everything that Merlot can and should be; dense blackberries and cherries, rich, silky, spicy, and supple from start to lingering finish. The dense core of fruit will radiate concentrated fruit flavors for more than a decade, yet the supple tannins and balance make it unlikely you’ll be able to keep from drinking it before then. This wine is so delicious that the best description is, “Wow!”

Clos LaChance 2005 Estate Viognier
Exotic and perfumed aromas of honeysuckle and orange blossom are very apparent on the nose. Hints of ripe tangerine and sweet white peach fruit. An extremely succulent entry with rich lemon-lime citrus and green melon. The finish is also exciting, with firm acidity and soft green apple flavors.CLOS LACHANCE'S FOOD PAIRING RECOMMENDATIONS: Dungeness Crab, Macadamia-nut Crusted Halibut, Grapefruit and Goat Cheese Salad
