David “Deej†DiGiantomasso in one of New York’s most sought-after diverse pop, R&B, Soul, Hip-hop, rock, Latin and Jazz Percussionist. Deej has recently relocated to LA California in December 2008. Some notable artists he has recorded, played and toured with are, Anthony Hamilton-Change Your World- World tour, Santana-All That I Am Tour, Original Parliament-NC Fun Festival, Martin Luther opening act for Jill Scott- Big Beautiful Tour, and NYC Shows with Shelby J of Princes NPG, and Benny Rietveld.
His journey as a musician began at the age of seven when he was handed down a trumpet from his older brother and at age fifteen he started playing percussion. He studied at Ocean County College, Boys Harbor Latin Music Conservatory in Harlem, Brooklyn College, and the Drummers Collective in NYC and privately under such greats as Frank Colon, and Doc Gibbs. Deej also apprenticed under Morris Lang in Orchestral percussion and drum making.
Deej is featured in Music Videos in current rotation on VH1 Soul, MTV Europe, as well as AOL and BBC live concerts, The TV Show Livin it up with Patty Label, and The 2007 Korean Video Music Awards.
Deej has recorded, with John Legend's artist Estelle, producer Fred McFarlane and DJ Darryl James, Butter featuring Roy Hargrove for Fluid studio’s NYC. His film composition credit on john Fine"s Falvio. Deej's musical contribution helped it received The Best Documentary award at the Woodstock Film Festival 2005.
In 2008 Deej has recorded on Swiss Chris's solo album and played on the JYP tour including Madison Square Garden with Korean megastar JY Park. In December he was the sound designer for the production of The 8 Reindeer Monologues directed by julia Pace Mitchell. Deej is working on his solo album due out later in 2009.
