About Me

Anita Camera
Singer-songwriter / Poet / Photographer / Artist
Anita spent most of her early years in Europe before moving to the Scottish Highlands in 1992. From the Swiss eco-building sites her path led her to the spiritual community of Findhorn, where she met and was encouraged by Mike Scott of the Waterboys to pursue her songwriting and performing.
After years of perfoming in folk clubs and immersing herself in the Gaelic tradition, she recently recorded her first album called 'ECLECTICA'.Please see www.spanglefish.com/anitacamera for more info.

Sounds Like: Very New Wave... The Aupairs, Girls at our Best spring to mind on songs such as "January M1" and "Failure is not an Option".
Anita also has a very 1960's Bohemian feel to her, i.e Leonard Cohen, Nico type stuff. Her mild European accent sounds haunting and beautiful when accompanied by a subtle Spanish guitar on songs such as "Sol Y Luna".
The next moment she comes across like Xray Spex when pounding out the anthem "Toxic Waste", only to top it off with a foray into the heavy industrial zone she easily inhabits with the urban crank of "Osterspaziergang". This is girl power at its most intelligent!
