Platonopolis - Land of the wise ruler

About Me

I was born pigeon-toed in Newark Ohio...Then I moved to Michigan. I guess I first really loved the music of the Sesame Street/Electric company themes...the drums in the later logically led to an interest in Neil Peart, but first Elvis was really what I liked. My first band was an attempt to play like my local heroes...EQUINOX. We were called Arrival! I was on drums and we played half of Stairway to heaven really mediocre-ly. Cat's Eyes and our friend Pete were on guitar and they were really good but... Equinox played a cover of A National Acrobat by Black Sabbath. I wanted to know that song...and of course Little Wing but I thought only Gods could do that. I moved to Maryland with Mom. After guitar lessons there with Bluesman/Rocker John Zahn I was happy...I could play guitar and write songs now...ahhh. Moved back to Michigan and tried college for a while in Ypsilanti. My good friends there were very musical. Mike Kovacich of Liquid Noise helped me write and record my first collaborative song. Moved back to Maryland when Mom got sick....eventually met Alex Hacker and Kurt Heasley, aka Wally, of Lilys fame and they needed a drummer. I always wanted to drum, for REAL, and so sat down at a kit that was there during an early Lilys rehearsal and it seemed to work fine. I admit it was hard for me to keep up at first, having never drummed and our little tour of 6 or 7 towns left my hands blistered, sob. We recorded Feb. 14th and Threw a Day single. I continued to write and record songs on my trusty Tascam portastudio cassette 4 track! Released an EP called Trout Lynch - Mimic Life...copies available just ask...After short stint in L.A. I moved to North Carolina and played drums with a band called Greenfinger. Moved back to Michigan and formed Supra-Argo with my friend Collin Rae. We also did some really cool free form Moog compositions under the name of Mystic Moog Orchestra and DUV. CD's still available, just ask. I then put together my own first real band... ahhh it was great...we did a lot of fairly obscure covers such as I've Seen the Saucers (Elton) and Connection by the Stones. We did a lot of my own material including a Space Opera of sorts which taught the public of our cosmic ancestery! I had read a lot of Zecharia Sitchin you see....I did some good recordings with Supra-Argo and with Jim Curry of Goober and the Peas in his basement studio and then moved one more time to North Carolina. As soon as we pulled in to Asheville, I auditioned for a local production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and lost out to guitar great Matt Kinne. Can you believe that? Ahhhh! But fate works in mysterious ways....I wound up drumming instead and got to play with Aaron Price and Matt Kinne, Charlie Flynn Mcgiver and Nikki Talley in the 3 week run of the Inch! Not bad. So now the Shining Path leads to A stint with great songster George Terry and the Zealots. Matt on bass, me on drums...good times. Then I joined Paperboy for a really fun time drumming, giging and recording some with them. So now here I am finishing my own CD, yeah really it will be soon...and surrounded by great musicians and friends....was this too long?
