About Me

JOSHUA JESSIE, Saxophonist/Composer/Producer! The youngest child in a family of musicians, Lansing-born Joshua Jessie (**~aka Josh Jay~**) inherited a gift for music that was discovered and nurtured early. By the age of ten he had taught himself to play the alto saxophone, and he was soon venturing into Lansing's, Detroit's, Orlando && Daytona Beach, Florida's, music scene. It was not long before the young musician made his first recording, featuring his band, the Jessie Trio . At the age of eighteen, having already performed alongside several prominent jazz figures, such as, Rodney Whitaker, Wessell "Warmdaddy" Anderson, Carl Allen, Branford Marsalis, Delfayo Marsalis, Regina Carter and many more, Joshua turned to music as a profession, playing the alto, bari, tenor and soprano saxophones with equal facility && is in the process of becoming an Afircan American Studies/ Jazz Studies major at Florida A&M University. I would like to thank all the people who have made an impact on my life thus far, && in the future. I would also like to thank the Omega Psi Phi Lansing Chapter for helping and maintaing my attendance in college along side with my mother, pastor, family && friends. To all, thankyou 8] layouts!
