In their brief time together 'Living With Eating Disorders' caused a quiet storm. From controversy surrounding the name and lyrical content, to constant concern over Andreas performance during intense live shows; for a band who never set out to shock, they were always offending someone - even rehearsals, a volatile affair, saw frequent changes in the live line-up.
The band began its early stages as a writing duo, Andrea, originally from Glasgow, and Jared, originally from Bournemouth, met in a west London recording studio where they found work after moving to London to pursue their vocation in music. After recording a succession of highly praised demos, which caught the attention of producer John Fryer, he immediately offered to help, and in August 2004 released the bands debut EP 'White Like Snow' on his new label 'Something To Listen To'.
On the strength of the demos the band were also offered many live shows, though between Feb 2002 and Feb 2005 played fewer than one a month. The end of 2004 saw the band support Psychic TV at the London Forum and Whitehouse at the London Underworld, but increasing pressure and growing concerns over Andrea's self injury, which seemed to be spiralling out of control, forced the band to take some time away from the public eye. On the 16th March 2005 Living With Eating Disorders performed their last gig - the gallery event "Parliament Of Monsters", a multi-media exhibition of photography, film, sculpture and performance, conceiving the genre "gallery rock", but marking the end of the bands turbulent existence.
