Trina was born into a musical family, Where she is the youngest of five siblings. She grew up in Inkster,Michigan, singing lead while her brothers played a variety of instruments. Trina realized her vocal ability at a very young age. She sang for the first time in her elementary school's gymnasium, in front of the entire school for Career Day. It was after wooing the crowd and receiving a standing ovation, that Trina realized she was blessed with the gift of singing.
Today, her powerful voice still rings clear and strong. Her vast musical experience includes: singing with hometown bands in local clubs, performing on hotel circuit tours and Motown reviews, and opening for major concerts throughout Detroit and Chicago. Trina is no stranger to the stage, in that she performed background vocals for the late great Rick James and opened for Shelia E, Will Downing, and Marcus Miller.
Trina's perseverance in the music world is just one indication of her sincere love of music. Throughout her life she has faced numerous obstacles, from grief and loss to failed relationships, addiction and ultimately incarceration. However, Trina's ability to endure through all of life's obstacles is exhibited in her soulful music.
