Photography...as I am a fashion and beauty photographer, I work all aspects of my shoots so that I might bring across my vision with precision to the T. I do the hair, make-up, styling, sets, light it, shoot, it and photoshop it if needed. I am always working. I am always ready to shoot. I love the arts, I love yoga, people with love to give and loyalty to the extreme.
Everything from Prince to The cramps..love it all!!!!!!I am fascinated with the likes of "Tomita"and have everything he has ever put out on vinyl.(Did you know he was such a mastermind he worked for the Japanese "C.I.A.")Music for me has never been about what's now because it just doesn't move me like that unless I want to dance. But music is something different for me it's like a nostalgic scent...It is reminiscent it is a feeling a sound something organic affects me differently... I have not bought a c.d. ever in my life. I am not modern like that my love and memories remain in the stuff I have collected since I was 15 on vinyl. I cannot be shaken from that way of listening I love talk radio.Mt.v. and commercial radio bore me to tears.
I have a deep passion for film. I love almost anything that came out of 1979.(personal reasons) Stanley Kubrick is a major factor movies like, "A clockwork orange",The shinning,"2001" huge!!!I loved the innocence of the late 70s after things got so wacky as the 60s pop stuff died down .. Although, so much to love from this era.. Movies..."Harold and Maud","The graduate",Almost every Peter Sellers movie ever made "Wacky world of Henry Orient","The party","I love you Alice b. Toklas" wonderful 60s etc....the morbid horror flix such as "The fog" "The changeling" all of those trilogy films the "Halloweens" and "Friday the 13th"s and Jaws. My list goes on and on... The psycho thrillers"Dressesd to kill","wait until dark"...I loved the sci-fi stuff good and bad (the late 70s)"Galaxina", "close encounters"I like gritty off the cuff 70s wack jobs like Russ Meyers films, many of these types of films..Vally of the ...dolls,I think about Jack and Peter and what life was like in Laurel Canyon and Malibu in the world they lived in making films, creating newness, blowing life into thoughts and ideas...together and alone.A meetings of the minds, fusing it up, boozing it up, and constant adult play...I think about the factory and those movies..those moments which were stretching as long as needed to until..DONE...in Andy's head..Life as we know it, being in your mode finding what is..and what is right, and what feels good, that which is pleasing to your eye..that which makes you work your body in to the ground, that which makes you cry for so many reasons upon reflection of the work, seeing it and most importantly being it...the work inside the work. The things you see in your head...the things you look for through your lense ...the things you want to share and excite people with.. a moment of goodness, a moment of purity, sexuality, badness...cruelty, love, power or lack of, etc..whatever...that thing that we all run to in our creative moment of "NOW". ...Film, stills, Movies, music.. but the musicals were also in a class of their own..."All that Jazz",(the fact that fosse had that insight into his own demise...shattering!!!Cabaret,"Hair" and "Godspell".Antie Mame, Gypsy... loved all of the wonderment and love that went into crossing broadway over to celluloid. I don't think I have seen a better moment than when Judy Garland sings "Somewhere over the rainbow"...all of the devistation of life in every word sweeps accross her face like a tragic..memory...caresses her in front of the whole world..as she sells the idea that escape is a wonderful thing. The sadness I feel when she looks to a galaxy so far away..it remends me of all of the pain we as humans go through...and how wonderful this "Place" is...I feel I touch this place she sings about when I am in the zone of my own creative world soooo far away that nothing bad can penitrate it. That beauty lives in the flesh,in the spark, in the idea, in the life of that idea and in me as I become an istrument and let it enter me.. ...that fragile state where creation is born... Well...The 80s left me afraid. "Xanadu" scarred me...but Olivia was great. I am not a huge fan of the fusing of animation and film alternately I love rodoscope.."Heavy metal" and" TRON" .Amazing....The 80s...Body double, body heat, against all odds, all the pacino works and Denero...Mommy dearest...Faye D. is most fantastic Her performance in Eyes of Laura Mars was compelling and exciting..Her passion and power in her work was electric, truthful and intense.I did not dabble in film going throughout the 90s and now perhaps things will get deep. There is so much going on in the world right now that I think there is a need for seeing everything which we can't with our own eyes, to be given that story of someone's from across the world or right next door is most important.... and lot's of art going on please.
I used to detest all gossip magazines and news shows (Hollywood). I now find myself hooked on gossip t.v. and late night talk shows just to see what Hollywood types demonstrate as "persona".Not trust fund kids i.e. Paris Hilton...Since all of the recent trauma in the world I find myself watching mostly the news and programs like 20/20 and Dateline.
Hunter s, Thompson is my favorite writer. I could read just about any autobiography. People are better than fictional characters anyway to me. But one of my favs is a book I have from 1968 regarding party planning there is enough yellow yarn and vodka cocktail recipes to go around in that one let me tell you. The photos of the table settings are incredible!
