Synchronicity and dischord. Superstrings and minor threads. I love languages and speak several with varying degrees of proficiency. Wing Chun Kuen. If you want to seduce me, start off with Vietnamese food. After that, I am like so much silly putty. I love noise. distortion. order within chaos. Call it chaorder... thats pronounced chowder, Frenchie!

I've played guitar over half my life, though one probably couldn't tell. Carp is a little project I'm doing on my own, but there's something new coming up soon. Hold your goats.

Support your local artists! For a time I worked with a small art gallery named 3Billion where we did exactly that. Though I've moved on and the original space has been reclaimed, 3Billion lives on in Texas.

Sadly, this country's obsession with the inane distills what the public's eyes and ears perceive to be art and innovation. Creativity is falling prey to attention deficit disorder (an imaginary condition commonly used as an excuse for laziness) and as a result, most people can not form complete thoughts.

I work for a small company near Ybor named Pattern Recognition. My title is "infrastructure engineer," but what the hell does that mean?

My Interests

All interesting, I assure you.

Do you ever wonder what you did to deserve being placed amongst so many people who have their heads up their asses? Is it a breakdown in perception on your own part or are people really that blanked out in the head that they drive down the road sucking on a lattee in a 3 ton SUV while yapping on a telephone about the newest thing Kanye West said.

I'm blown away at how sucked into the media we are. The irony is that I'm writing about this here of all places. I guess that if I put it onto a piece of paper somewhere, it would have absolutely zero chance of being read.

Is anyone else out there a little concerned about these things? Am I being freakishly obsessed?

I'd like to meet:

And I want to shake the hand of the woman who wrote this:

I watched from my window, not on television, as the twin towers fell. As shocked as I was, I felt that this was not my problem as a black person. The people who worked at the World Trade Center were mostly white men, and so they had nothing to do with me as a black woman.

When there was an outpouring of grief and donations from every corner of the United States, I said to myself, If those planes had flown into a housing project and the victims were poor blacks and Latinos, people in Missouri wouldn't give a damn. When I heard that there had been over $1 billion in private donations, I asked myself where was this money before? Why hadn't it been donated to help the homeless, children who do not have access to an education, people who do not have access to healthcare? Here we have people rushing to write checks to people whose families will be taken care of by insurance or their employers.

To me, 9/11 was just another example of the American paradigm of deservedness and white entitlement. We are not all Americans; the white investment banker, the white fireman, the white police officer, the white EMT, they are Americans.

Music:

good music exists in pockets. tampa is not really one of those places, all we have here is death metal and top 40s bands. I miss texas for that very reason.

musical diversity has been in death throes since the Mtv mentality took hold. Clear Channel, Cox, the RIAA, Mtv, Fuse... they all exist to force feed us crap, telling us what's next. Beware indie rockers, emo kids... you are next.

i hate labeling music in categories smaller than rock and roll, jazz, blues, hip-hop, electronic... you get the idea. i dig on more lyrically creative bands and groups with innovative ideas. music is life; it connects us and divides us and when it is good enough, conquers us.
