I'm not actually a band, but a producer, Rock-god, Beat-Creator, and all round loser... being a band is so lame, don't you think? it's really nineties to be a band. And being nineties is really lame... besides how can one person be a band.. ok, whatever...
I do play in bands though.. my favorite one is The Saints (yep, the 1970ies Ozzie blokes) and we are 'the best, worst rock band in the world" we suck! really it's true! ask anybody.
Then there's my favorite studio-project/dj-crew: Strfckr. (check us out, we're in my friends section) we are very dull, i love dull..
Oh and i'm also Gaspard (that's me 5 years ago, thinking i could "out-nob-twitch" Daft Punk, haha, fat chance!). and then in 2002 a big french label called me, to sign me up, to late, i had already been released by a small dutch label...
And i made a record called "Nightingale", which was a clever play on words, because i called myself "gaspard dela Nuit"and the girl that did the singing was called Abigael... get it...Anyway, it was a big flop, nobody wanted to sign us, so i released it myself. i think i only sold about 200 copies, and our video was on mtv... only once! Try getting your record on radio and tv without corporate push... forget about it.
Before that I helped Bastian (a real creative genius!) make some of his electrofunk records, they did pretty cool, charting in Holland, Belgium and being compiled all over the world... But of course he wrote all the material so i never earned a Pennie of that one either. Oh, i almost forgot, i made a record with Womack & Womack once... but they were really loopy, and into weird spiritual stuff, but in a really superficial American way...and they dragged their nine children around with them every were they went...eventually ended up living in our studio, until they disappeared without paying the bill!!! fuckem!
And then there was the"Supermannen", a dutch stonerrock-band in which i played bass. I left them, just as we finished recording what must be, withoutadoubt, "thebestdutchrockrecordnobodywantedtosignbecausetheydon'tget
it"
hmmmmmm.
What i did get right was being involved in the production of the number one hit "Dansplaat" by dutch rapper Brainpower (the gold record must be somewhere in my studio) but of course, technically i was just the engineer on that one, so it made me 156,- Euro's.... talking about being at "wrong end of the bargain".
The other "wrong end of the bargain"or rather "wrong part of the world" is that i moved to Belgrade last year, were there's no music buzz what so ever! and there are no cool bands and no talent! you think your local music buzz sucks?... haha...
Any way's don't check out my music, it's crap, it sucks.. really, it does! And forget about asking me to work with you, because as you can see, every thing i do turns into total failure...
