Interesting People who don't bore me. I have ecclectic tastes and I like people who amuse me and make me smile.

Music:

As far as Music, I like anything to which I can move! It changes from day to day. 80's goth and New Wave. 90's grunge. 60's beach tunes. The Moody Blues. David Bowie. Movie Sountracks. Indian Bollywood music. I love Zee TV. German Industrial. Local bands like The Killers and Heavy Honey. Techno/Trance/Dance/House music. Paul Oakenfold. J pop. Crowded House. The inspired compositions of Eric Galligan. Irish and English Drinking Songs. Old School Punk (Bad Religion and Less Than Jake). Gallacian Pipes a la Carlos Nunez. Arabic Bellydances remastered. Some Opera (Aida) and some classical (mostly Russian and Austrian). I am ALWAYS looking for something new. Show me the way.

Movies:

6 favorte movies in no particular order. Labyrinth, Bound, Boondock Saints, The Big Easy, The Opposite Sex, Diabolique. I can watch these movies over and over. I know, as ecclectic as the music. Should I add a 7th and say The Princess Bride. I think Yes. Same with Office Space. I REALLY do have 8 bosses.

Television:

I watch A LOT of anime. I got hooked on Voltron and Robotech at about 9 years old. Now I watch Adult Swim, Miguzi, Toonami, AZN, Anime Network, Fridays nights on TCM. Anywhere I can find it. English or Japanese. An imcomplete list: Gundam Wing, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Record of Lodoss War, Descendents of Darkness, Big O, Trigun, Ghost in the Shell (all incarnations), Cardcaptors, Sailor Moon, Ninja Scroll, His/Her Circumstances, Oh my Goddess, Macross, Princess Mononoke, Witch Hunter Robin, Naruto, Saiyuki, Wolf's Rain, and anything by Miyazaki. I could go on... Sometimes I even watch regular TV. I like Boston Legal, the Food Network, and anything where houses are being torn down and rebuilt.

Books:

I have read a lot of classical stuff, both in tranlation and in the original. I've read more Caesar and Cicero than I care to. But I like Juvenal, Sappho, and Aristophanes. Funny. Anne Rice. Love Vampires to death. The more modern stuff I like is a lot of new sci fi. China Mieville, David Brin, Robert Sawyer, Kim Stanley Robinson. I like some classics like Jane Austen and F. Scott Fitzgerald. I LOVE reading Lord Byron. I've loved Amy Tan since high school. Of course Watership Down makes this list! I'm a HUGE Sherlock Holmes fan from my pre-teen days. And of course The Wind in the Willows.

Heroes:

My Husband. He's the smartest man I know. He knows how to take care of problems. He makes me laugh until my sides hurt.

Missing the Ocean (smell of the sea pt. 2)

It's hard to study when the lull of the ocean keeps making you drowsy. But we managed to head to the beaches of UC Santa Barbara and do it everyday. Do people who care so much about surfing and the pe...

Just One of the Boys

I grew up on a large cul-de-sac (about 20 houses) where I was the only girl.  Does one adapt or was I always a tomboy in my heart?  Nature vs. nuture.  Regardless, I loved to pla...

The Smell of the Sea

I once lived in paradise, or at least they had the same zip code. I lived in a shack by the sea.  If you went to the corner of Del Playa and Camino Pescadero in Isla Vista you would see a run dow...

Going Out to Breakfast
