About Me

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED!
I was the 2nd highest fundraiser!
This was my third walk for Lung Cancer, September 8, 2007! And these were just some of the people I walked for...
My thanks to those who made a donation or sent their moral support! You can link via the picture for my walk results.
I walked for my mom...and others who are living with lung cancer or the families of those who have died as a result of having lung cancer. Your support was greatly appreciated!

Married for 10 years and have a 3.5 year old little boy we adopted. We got him when he was 4 days old, and held him when he was 3 days old. This life has been beset with a series of wonderful and horrible things... all of them a learning experience...some I wish I never had to experience...such as the death of my mother to cancer.
I'm currently trying to lose weight so I can keep up with one of the most energetic 3+ year olds I know... and for my health. I've lost 40lbs so far on Weight Watchers...and will be trying to get in shape to run in the 5K Lung Run in Sept. I know 5K isn't that much... but at 43, and being so out of shape, it will be a feat to be able to do it!
I've done many things in my life so far, and found I'm pretty good at alot of stuff...but a Master of none. I'm hoping being a mother will end up being what I'm a "master" at doing.
I am a fierce friend...and have friends I still talk to, after 38 years... I love my family... I am a liberal Democrat... although not fanatical... I believe that we're here to learn from our experiences, and better our souls... and it's important to give back.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Bill Clinton, most of all, even though he couldn't keep it in his pants for 8 years... I still think he is one of the most intelligent, articulate politicians of our time.
Dali Lama, from whose teachings I find peace in my soul. I'm not a practicing Buddhist, but I believe alot of what is encompassed in that faith...and I find the Dali Lama to be a wonderful soul, one that I would only be blessed by knowing.
Barak Obama, my Senator from IL. In fact, if he runs for President in 2012... I'll work for him!d
Karen Armstrong, author of "History of God" and "Battle for God". I'd love to hear her views in person.
Anne Rice, author. Love her books! Yeah, I'm a freak...but I do!

Aging Sucks

Well, my grandfather would have said "getting old stinks," because his generation didn't use "suck" with the elegance of my generation. He lived to be 92. When he died, it was in a nursing home, he co...

Dear Mom,

I'm sitting here today, feeling kinda low. I've been a bit overwhelmed by life lately. I've been missing you alot, your counsel, your humor, your ability to kick me in the butt and have me "stop it".....

Oh yeah, I have opinions...

I've never been short on opinions. Doesn't mean they don't change, given the right argument from someone else... but for the most part, I'm stubborn... I have opinions... and they're pretty strong opi...
