About Me
I don't life too seriously. I don't take myself too seriously. I don't take drama too seriously. I'm pretty laid back, I like being crazy though. I'm the kind of kid, that when drama happens I like to fix it or ignore it. I'm generally happy with life. Sometimes I take offense to stupid things. Sometimes I do stupid things. Sometimes I stay stupid things. Sometimes I am stupid. But aren't we all? I tend to make lots of mistakes. I tend to be a flake. Sometimes I can accidentally be a jerk. I don't tend to think before I say and/or do things. But I'm a generally common-sensical (Not a word, I know) person. I am extremely physical. I touch people. Not like the way you might've thought just a second ago, but I hug my friends. All of them. I goof around. I laugh at stupid things. I never take movies seriously. I laugh at nothing sometimes. I suppose it makes life more interesting. I'm a total romantic. I enjoy playing video games at times, when I do have time. Guitar Hero = best game EVER. I suppose the despcription of Aquarias sums me up perfectly; Smart, Arrogant, Romantic, Creative, and Relaxed.
In terms of books, I'm not really a big fantasy, adventure guy, like a lot of people my age. I suppose I like Harry Potter, but I've been reading Dune, 1984, and books like that since I was 9. Those two are my favorite fiction books, a long with Lord Of The Flies and books of those sorts. I'm also a Stephen King guy. Horror stories are entertaining. Then there's Biographies, and things of that sort. Political commentaries interest me as well. I also like Playwrights such as Shakespeare (Obviously.) I have yet to get into deeper cuts from him, or other authors. I will some day though, when I'm smart enough to fully understand the subtext in the scripts. I also enjoy books from philosophers. Nietzsche's a personal favorite. And then there's good old News Papers (Even though the daily sun blows.) I enjoy reading Rolling Stone, Musicians Friend (Which you don't really read, but oogle instruments. It's like Play Boy for musicians.), The New Yorker, and whatever happens to come in the mail. I also enjoy looking at the various blogs on this here vast internet. A lot of people have stories to tell.
With movies, I'm really an elitist type. As I am with everything I suppose. I enjoy old comedy movies (slapstick type stuff). Like, Black and White. Good stuff. You know, Three Stooges, Marx(something... forgot his name), Abbot and Castillo(sp). Casablanca was an excellent movie. I like oldschool thrillers and romantics too. And then for more modern movies, I enjoy really corny comedies, like Anchorman or Napoleon Dynamite. I forgot to mention I enjoy older horror movies too. George Romero's the shit. And again, back to modern movies; I like movies that speak to me, and that have something to say. A message to the world, or like a hidden commentary on the world today. Something that expresses an interesting world view. Munich really blew me away. The Pursuit Of Happyness was decent. The Matrix was good, not to be a Sci-Fi nerd or whatever. The Shining is excellent. A Clockwork Orange is fantastic. Dr. Strangelove is one of my favorites. Saving Private Ryan is one of my favorites as well. That's it for movies. I'm not that big of a movie watcher. Most I've seen are forgettable. I can never really watch a movie more then 3 times, unless I really really love it.
For TV, I'm into the more discrete shows. Not necessarily underground, but y'know. The Office is a favorite. Arrested Development before it got taken off the air =(. LOST (not really underground.) Band Of Brothers. I love mini-series. That's it for TV. Then I mostly watch documentaries or whatever is on. Music Videos, even though most of them suck. I'm not a big fan of News networks. All mass media bull shit that just gives you sensationalists stories. If I do watch it's either pbs or FOX or CNN or NBC. A balance of all. Even though most of them lean left. Also; screw mtv.
I also love talking. About everything. Life. Love. Anything. I find the world we live in an interesting place and I could never get bored talking. I'm an extremely opinionated kid. But I don't take my opinion as fact. I'm open to others most of the time. I love to argue. Not in a hostile way, but for fun. Just to have a challenge. To look at others beliefs. I'm a bit of a politics nerd. Not lately, because I'm sick of bull shit. Everyones become all self serving. Screw greedy politicians. I'm not necessarily a religious person, but I do believe in some unseen force watching over us. I'm not against organized religion, because I believe it has things to offer our society
More then anything in this world, I love music. Music is my passion. I may not be that great of a musician, but I can play and that's enough. I play guitar, bass, and drums. I'm fortunate enough to be in 2 great bands; Vertra, and Figure 13. I have tons of side projects with folks, and they help me so much to learn more about how to write music and to record. I'm fortunate enough to know such great musicians, and too also have the greatest teacher alive as far as I'm concerned. He's been teaching me for 6 or 7 years now. Without music I couldn't survive. I can be kind elitist; but it's all good. I like classical; well, not really classical, if you want to be specific, more Romantic period type music. And Modern 20th Century Compositions. Rap, Reggae, Ska, and all that stff; I love that. Soul is awesome. Motown is the bomb. Metal and Indie are my favorite genres of rock. Rock is all around my favorite genre, but really; all music is related to me. I love it all. I want to start learning piano soon. I only know a few chords and a few songs, but I hope to someday expand my musical boarders and start learning even the sax and maybe the Cello.I have so many great friends, whom of which, I'd be lost without.
Brandon is the most awesome kid I've ever meet. He doesn't take life to seriously, he knows when to laugh and when to be serious. He's polite to the right the people, and he knows when to kid around. He laughs at nothing with me. We have so many inside jokes. I swear to god, I almost piss my pants of laughter every time I'm with him.
Tommy is my homie. We barely meet and we knew we'd be g's. We hit up the lounge, hang, and talk about the wimmenz. We have fun recording and jamming. He's basically someone I can trust. I'm hoping I can get to know him more.
Max is pretty ghetto. We ended up having all the same classes together except one this year, so we became homies. We hang out a lot, and have a love for music. It's cool I met this stupid Italian, and I hope we can become crazy cool G's.
Annika is one of my best friends. We tell each other everything, and we can talk about anything. We just get along, and are able to talk about stuff and work out problems in our lives just by talking. She's been there for me and I've been there for her. Things have been tough sometimes, but she's always been there for me. I know I can trust her and that she can trust me.
Claire is awesome. We basically hooked up in Vertra and clicked. We record, we hang, we laugh. I'm glad I know him, and hopefully we'll get closer after this year.
Thomas is my awesome buddy. He helps me in school and to get through problems. He knows how to push my buttons, to get me to work harder. He helped me work through Babes In Toyland, and gave me help with English homework. And he's just someone that I can be mean too, because he's mean to me, and know it doesn't matter. I can trust him and I know sometimes, even though he pisses me off, he's a good friend.
Shari is my sexy lover. She's so cool. We hang out and laugh, and never talk about anything to serious. We have raves in Spanish class and talk about nothing and still have fun. She's not hard to be around, and you can be alone in a room with her without it being awkward. I've never seen her be mean to anyone. She's probably the nicest girl I know.
Gina is my hero. She can be a woman and a kid at the same time. She's so mature, yet so happy and childish. She knows how to have fun. I want to be happy like her when I grow up. And she's so smart too. I tend to get what she's saying, and she gets what I say. And she's a really great director.
Rafe is my hero as well. He taught me guitar, helped me buy my first guitar, introduced me to great music, and taught me drums and bass as well. Without him, life would be dull and boring. I've been introduced to a whole world of opportunity thanks to him. He's in so many great bands and projects. I'm surprised he's not touring the world by now. And he's the nicest guy I've ever meet as well. And his girlfriend helped me set up my studio =)
Tony is my mad skilled guitar playin' band mate. He's pretty sick. We pretty much clicked. I have fun jamming with you and rockin' out to METAAAAAAL!
I've known Chris since I was like 8 and we've recently been reunited in a METAAAAAAAL! band. He's pretty freaking ghetto. He's my redneck-emo-hippy-conservative-anti-religious-punk friend. He's a Cruiser too so I'll always have his back.
Friends who don't have a myspace; I'll tell you in person how important you are to me. Sarah D., Jacob Maxton, Aiden, etc. You're all so great. My friends are the most important thing in the world to me. I love you guys. I didn't forget about you.
