A.B.H.O which stands for always being hated on is a group that musically consists of Gotti Monroe and D’va who just happen to be two of Washington DC hottest female artist. They met in high school at Theodore Roosevelt. They started writing songs together there eleventh grade year and have been hitting open mic shows through out the city ever since.Alexis (D’va) has been singing since the tender age of three. She wrote her first song when she was fourteen years old and has been persistent ever since, at such a young age with a very powerful voice. Alexis has proved she has talent. Competing around the Washington DC-Metro area, in which she would always come in first... In 2002 she advanced all the way to perform at the Roosevelt hotel, the Entertainment Museum and the NAACP Image awards pre show in Hollywood California. Alexis has also grace the stage at the world famous Apollo Theater, Cotton club, and the New Yorker. Alexis started rapping her tenth grade year in high school and she’s also good on her feet she has mastered the craft of being a triple threat.One listen to the tongue-twisting rhymes of Gotti Monroe and you may notice this is not your ordinary newcomer. Coming from the Igbo culture with both of her parents being from Imo State, Nigeria & being raised in uptown DC, this fresh-faced MC can battle with the best. "Hip Hop is a culture & I love being in it." says Gotti “As far as rapping, I feel as though nowadays it’s a fad which shows that anyone can do it & that’s why everybody does it now but you have to have “that thing†that catches people ears. It's a natural thing that can't be taught & I know I got it. When I spit it comes from the soul…I can feel it. I told myself, I'm not going to sound like everybody else," she says. "I'm not just another female rapper. I want to set a tone. I want my skills to measure against all rappers, so to be placed only among the females is limiting. I would feel like that would be cheating' myself.†Gotti started writing at the age of 10. If she has something on her mind, it will be heard. Her lyrics are known to be controversial yet down to earth. One thing about Gotti; you can't knock her focus, because she's too driven to succeed. And you can't stomp her pride, because she's too confident to feel down...
