Music, sewing, clothes, food - growing, cooking, and eating, wine (not a connoisseur, just like it), books, maps, antiques, wierd stuff and stories (like people born with gills and that sort of thing). Would like to travel a lot more, learn a few other languages - at least on a conversational level.
I'm willing to meet anyone who doesn't suck (and that's for me to be the judge of, by the way). And a few people who are dead now. And an alien. Maybe.
I love any music that is GOOD. Admittedly, music can be considered good (by me, anyway) for many different reasons - I liek music for its intensity and ability to either move me or humor me in some way. To name a (very) few - Tom Waits,Cat Stevens,Alkaline Trio, The Shins, old M.J. (you know you do, too), The Strokes, Otis Redding, The Arcade Fire,Bob Dylan, Hot Hot Heat, Lucinda Williams, Niel Young, Larry Keel, The Avett Brothers, Strike Anywhere, Joni Mitchell. Many, many others I haven't heard yet. In my car right now - The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Swervedriver, a mix with the Kinks, Sparklehorse, Thin Lizzy, and more.
Movies I like are: Living In Oblivion, Amelie, Spirited Away, Trials of Life documentaries, anything 3-D at IMAX, Rosevoir Dogs, The Wedding Singer, Intacto, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing, High Fidelity, Orgazmo, The original Pride & Prejudice, The Matrix (only the first one), Dogma, The Chronicles of Narnia, V For Vendetta, Four Rooms...too many old favorites to name - Princess Bride, Labrynth, Three Amigos, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, The Dark Crystal...the list goes on and on.
I didn't have cable for the longest time. Hell, I didn't even have a tv for the longest time before I didn't have cable for the longest time. And now that I do have both a tv and cable...well, I prefer to keep my personal favorites under the "deep, dark secrets" category.
Just finished reading Naked, by David Sedaris. Currently reading Set This House on Fire by William Styron. Anything by Roald Dahl. Or Shel Silverstein. The Stand by Stephen King. Les Miserables by Voctor Hugo. I love The Far Side and Calvin and Hobbes! I would like to consider myself reasonably well-read, but there are zillions of amazing books in the world that I still haven't read.
My Heroes(sigh): Space Ghost, Benjamin Franklin, Beethoven....many others. Anyone with true individuality, style, taste, and class. Anyone with a strong heart and true conviction. Be daring, but be real, m-effers! Or I will chop you. And dislike you.
