The story of Thou Shalt Not Fall began in early 2005 when lead singer and rhythm guitarist Jamie came back home to Birmingham after living out in the USA and had been in a band there called "The Presciptions".Eager to start a new band, he discovered Ian who has been playing in rock bands covering nearly 20 years. After the break up of ’Violet’, having played support to named bands, he joined up with Jamie’s brain child.Soon after, Gareth joined after hearing about the band through his wife. Originally from Blackpool, whilst living there, Gareth had played one or two virtuoso performances of Joe Satriani’s "Surfing with the Alien". When hearing about the band he stepped in to be their lead guitarist!The line up of Thou Shalt Not Fall was almost complete. As a 3 piece they recorded a 4 track demo, Jamie and Gareth playing bass guitar parts as well. Not long after though, their long search was over after Jamie started a new job which lead him to bassist, Jon. Jon hadn’t been a bassist before joining Thou Shalt Not Fall, but after tuition from the band - and his dad - he picked it up in no time!In February 2007 they recorded a new demo which includes 10 tracks, entitled "Beast In Me" which will very shortly be available for download via i-tunes and in October of the same year, were signed to independent Midlands record label UKNewsound.This prompted the band to then take the name Thou Shalt Not Fall as they previously went by the name of Kolo. As of March 2008 a new addition was made to the line-up - singer Vicky. She has a strong musical background which runs through her family and has been a terrific acquisition, as was seen at the most recent and high-profile performance where the band supported 4* Mary of Buffy The Vampire Slayer fame in Wolverhampton, in the Midlands leg of their UK tour.Two nights a week the band rehearse at Madhouse Studios in Hockley, but it is not until you see these guys playing live that you can truly appreciate just how awesome they are!
